Insult in 5 languages
Ode to the values of polite discourse
by IC 5/12/2008

He can insult in 5 languages

Such a skill is sure to impress

To belittle and make feel small

Is certainly a skill to posess

At least in salons and cafe society

He's thought of as quite urbane.

No matter which language he insults in --

To me?

He's a jerk all the same.

(Something from long ago that still works today.)

  1. Dear Mr. Blueberry,
I miss the eBay blog. Feels like I'm growing up and saying good bye to PeterPan and his merry band of lost boys. Considering that I was born grown up, this makes me kind of sad.
Mr. Blueberry, I've spent my whole life saying "good bye" to people and places and many things. Each time I was told to "buck up". Look at my life as a series of beginnings not endings. Thing is that here? People are like trees. They put down roots and they stay for a very long time. One fella told me that his wife swore to him that she never wanted to stay here but then she did. She tolded him that she got sand in her shoes and had to stay. I didn't exactly understand what he meant. I'm trying to see but there's this mist in my eyes - and in my heart. It's not the blog, Mr. Blueberry. It's what I'm writing about.

Maybe it's just the sunshine outside of my back door that has my eyes watering. Maybe it's just the hammock calling. Honest, I don't know.

A long time ago, I asked Newt what to name my boat. She told me to go sit on that boat. Be very, very quiet and the boat would tell me what to do. I think that if I asked Newt what to do now she'd give me the same advice.

Sit quietly. Work hard. Listen to my heart.

I don't know what to tell you but I think that you've got to have the patience of a saint. I think that you'll sit quiet or not so quiet and watch as I try out my new shoes.

I would love it if you were here and that I could get a hug. At the end of the day it would be nice to be quiet with someone who was happy to be in my company. So many things that I've seen. It would have been nice to have someone to share it with.

Who knows. Maybe some day I'll actually be someone's best girl.

Kind of doubt it but I guess it's okay to hope.

    Kind regards,

    Ann

    Note

    This is 12dotsand ablot.
    A writer's journal.
    Fact and fiction are here.
If you don't know which is which?
    For the love of Pete?
    Don't ASSume.
    Ask.

Also the publisher told someone that I was a writer. So even if poetry isn't lucrative? It's still writing.

    Just saying.

I am so looking forward to this film.

    Dunno' why.

Oh wait- yes, I do know why.

Life is complicated in it's simple effort to get from one day to the next.

  5. And while the Scotland shows for the LLSwTv'sCF look much more entertaining than the shows from France?

They still look self absorbed and narcissistic.

I don't think I have the patience to watch.

    Plus, I'll probably be busy.

Would all those folks who miss the old CF raise their hands?

Let's see one, two, threefourfive, six, ...(later)..., one million one, one million two, one million three, ...

LOL this is alot of folks missing the old Craig Ferguson.

Lucky me. I may not have cable but I do have a good book.

    Yup, will be busy.

    LOL
