.

So this is what it's come to.

I am going to read what I've wrote.  An entire hour.

The exception?

This poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear --
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.'

and this song

Good mornin' starshine, the earth says hello
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below

Good mornin' starshine, You lead us along
My love and me as we sing
our early mornin' singin' song

Glibby gloop gloopy Nibby Nabby Noopy La La La Lo Lo
Sabba Sibby Sabba Nooby abba Nabba Le Le Lo Lo
Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba
Early mornin' singin' song

Good mornin' starshine
There's love in your skies
reflecting the sunlight
in my lovers eyes

Good mornin' starshine, so happy to be
my love and me as we sing
our early mornin' singin' song

Glibby gloop gloopy Nibby Nabby Noopy La La La Lo Lo
Sabba sibby sabba nooby abba nabba Le Le Lo Lo
Tooby ooby walla Nooby abba nabba
Early mornin' singin' song

***musical interlude***

Can you hear me?
Singin' a song, hummin' a song, singin' a song
Lovin' a song, laughin' a song, singin' the song
Sing the song, song the sing

Song song song sing, sing sing sing song

Sing sing a song sing a song

Sing sing a song, sing a song

The rest?

Where to begin?

Haiku Kudzu

Dogs bark this morning.

Telling of a guest to be;

Good story at supper.

.
For Elizabeth G and her Mooses

The words do come fully formed

Like a lovely yet sometime weedy garden

Only I get to decide what are the weeds

And which are the flowers.

So I caught that poem by it's tail

I swug it round and round

Threw the words against the wall

Then stomped them on the ground

No pit of dark and deep dispair

Would beat my story down

Gentlly it would rise up

From the mire upon the ground

The words they rose like the butterfly wings

Round and round my head they'd fly

To live in some enchanted land

Then come back. I don't know why.

Then weave themselves into a cloak

The color of a summer sky

Or deeper blue. A blue berry blue

From the oceans of tears I'd cried

So here -- it's yours to keep you warm

Traveler's coat with faery wings.

To fly you to ephemeral lands

Where imaginations sing.

Morning Symphony

The time between when the Moon sets and the Sun rises.
It is a good time of day.
Peaceful.
To watch the day unfurl gently.
Like music.
A flute.
A gentle violin.
A question by the flute.
An answer back by the violin.
A playful oboe opens it's eyes then closes and yawns.
An industrious trumpet.
Then another as they wake and head off to work.
Then quiet with a very soft tympani roll that builds to only a soft yawn. Again the violin and flute duets.
They drink their coffee and get ready for the day.
Picolos underfoot funning round in a frantic.
Collecting books
And boots a
And a quick bite of something on their way to school.
End the first movement

Good morning!

Poem for my son

My son asked me what is Love. To explain I wrote this.

What is love?

He asked me in such a serious tone

Had to close my eyes to think.

How to answer?

Then in my mind

I saw him 5 years old again.

He was eating oranges on a bright blue beach towel.

Covered in juice

Sand on his feet.

Sticky sweet in his hair and on his face

There were watermelon slices on his plate

But he would only eat the oranges

Used the rind for yellow orange "teeth"

Said that the wedges made his eyes cross

Because they were sour as well as sweet

"Just like you Sunshine"

I told him and then ruffled his hair

He laughed

And the sun shone brighter because of it

What is love?

I looked into his somber eyes

Many miles and years later.

"Love is sticky sweet oranges on a bright blue beach towel."

"Love is you."

Riding in Moonlight

The sound of the hooves

Across the terrain

Those hooves kept the rhythm

His heart did the same

Explorer, he thrilled

At each vista quite new

Lighter than air

Through the night sky they flew

Each hill and each valley

More wild than the moors

Or the oceans he'd sailed

Or their wild craggy shores

He sang out the lyrics

Her hooves the refrain

Till they came to the chorus

Voice one and the same

The Heavens did tremble

When hooves came to ground

Explorer met valley

With a thunderous sound

Cold air and wild mountains

The moors at the dawn

Riding in moonlight

From gravity unbound

"Read me."

It said.

So Alice did.

Scratched her head,

Closed her eyes,

She raised a kid,

She couldn't see,

So she thought she hid.

Said the strange, furry cat,

"Well she sat quite still.

(Fell to the bottom of her glass.)

Found wisdom in a pill."

Left what was "left" of her mind

on the top of a hill.

And promptly became

a Republican?

"Strange days." sighed the cat.

To which the Blue Footed Booby of Time said,

"Pull my string. Please"

Husband,

What breath have I drawn that didn't have your name on it?

Today I wrote to you and it vanished into air.

Stolen words. My words. Taken by one who Fate says is more deserving.

"Stolen words...."

I am here.

My words.

Twisted.

Bent in ways to satisfy another

Like a bent paper clip.

Well hear these words.

Home.

You don't steal words and then be deserving of them.

You aren't a prize to be won at the carnival.

You are the extrodinary man who I love.

You are the sound of snoring from the other side of the bed.

Or you should be.

You're where the road leads.

Where my feet trod.

Where my heart lives.

I stand on flat feet

*****

The dogs of war howl outside my heart.

The dogs who are relentless.

The dogs of war and hell.

Do you hear them?

They are feet mired in the mud of Earth.

They could wash the mud from their feet.

But instead they chose to stay mired.

My father did not raise this woman to be prisoner of the mud.

I washed the mud from my feet long ago.

Washed the mud from my spirit.

From my heart.

I won't look down again.

Fierce I am.

Fierce I'll be.

Your love is in my heart.

Fate can rip me to pieces, scatter those pieces to the ends of the Universe, to be eatten my crows... Each piece of my heart will tell those crows of our love. Those crows will be so sad that they will fly from the ends of the Universe. With each piece covered in stardust they will sew the pieces together.

And in the center?

...Our heart...

Regret Hannah Murphy 15 June 2008

My life is flowing past you.

What will you do if there is no more me?

What will I do if there is no more you?

We do grow older.

And life can be so unexpected.

I watch you grow older.

Your river flowing past me.

Someday a memory of things past is all I'll have.

The ability to form new memories gone.

The ability to heal old wounds gone.

Snatched by senility or death from our hands.

Regret and loss are inadequate companions.

Talk to me again or not.

Remember me again or not.

That's up to you.

But forget this lesson?

Of loss.

Please do not.

I wouldn't wish regret of things unsaid on you for all the tea in China.\

Swallow your anger and pride.

Call.

Insult in 5 languages
Ode to the values of polite discourse
by IC 5/12/2008

He can insult in 5 languages

Such a skill is sure to impress

To belittle and make feel small

Is certainly a skill to posess

At least in salons and cafe society

He's thought of as quite urbane.

No matter which language he insults in --

To me?

He's a jerk all the same.

The Next Day

Hannah Murphy August 18, 2008

He rolled over

Stood up

Unsteady

Everything hurt.

His head, his side, his heart.

Night long and sleep short.

Passing the night

Waiting for the world they knew to pass away

Without really "seeing" just how bad it could be

Only darkness, flashlights, and candles in the wind

While outside the wind roared

Like some banshee in labor

Her nightmare child born

A poem for my Uncle

Running

I knew a man whose wife and children left him.

Their hearts poisoned like a well.

For the rest of his life he kept moving.

Oh the stories he could tell.

But all of his posessions.

Everyone of them he'd sell.

For just a little kindness

A little happiness as well.

Under the trees we sat there.

I asked him, "What's your name?"

He looked at me with sad, sad eyes.

The pain it was quite plain.

"I've walked a million footsteps

I've sailed the deepest sea

I never have stopped running

From the pain tha's after me."

The devil of it all

What don't seem to set him free

The life that he's been running from

Is the life you want for me.

So get away you old devil

Get far away from me

I've no time for all your nonsence.

Keep far, far away from me.

AuthorAnn 1-12-09

.The next poem is about being far away from home and missing your home.

Homecoming

I'm dreaming of tomatoes and summer.

I'm dreaming of the Gulf of Mexico.

I'm dreaming of the sailboat.

The sky blue.

The sails full.

My father at the helm.

Everyone happy.

Everyone's hearts free.

I want to go home.

To my home.

This is not my home

Everyday I will say this

Every.

Single.

Day.

It's not cozy.

It is cold.

It is wet.

It is dreary.

I'm not ungrateful.

Yes, there are worse places I could be.

Famines. No water at all.

I count my blessings. But...

It's not right to tell a lie correct?

I can function and have functioned in all kinds of places.

Have been through great storms and known dark loneliness.

I am lucky to have survived such things.

I am grateful to have a kind place to be.

But still when the sky is blue or a breeze picks up.

When I close my eyes and hear my father laugh.

Even in the midst of great beauty?

When I dream?

I dream of home.

Why I Like Poetry And Know How To Spell The Word "cacophony"

by Ann 5 November, 2008

The words.

Even the dark angry ones.

Are music.

A storm out in the Gulf.

They swirl around me like the wind.

They wet me like the rain.

I'm soaked to the bone with the thought of it.

I dance to the music wild.

Thunders loud in my ears.

I vibrate.

The air alive.

Howling.

I dance in the middle of all this sound.

Thrill to it.

Free.

One day I will be drawn up into the vortex-- this cacophony of life

And be delivered into the heavens.

CACOPHONY (cack-AH-fuh-nee or cack-AW-fuh-nee)

Discordant sounds in the jarring juxtaposition of harsh letters or syllables which are grating to the ear, usually inadvertent, but sometimes deliberately used in poetry for effect.
so okay I might could have used the word

I was writing an email to a friend when this poem came to mind

Soft

Work in Progress

I feel as if I'm in the dark with my eyes wide open but I can not see

It's not a frightening dark

It's a soft, liquid, slightly out of focus dark

As I move through your mind

Everything is soft

Like down pillows and down comforters

Soft

Like feathers falling from the sky

Snow flakes

Soft

Like a whisper of a wisp

When I stumble and I fall?

I fall into clouds

Soft

Wisps of clouds like dust swirl up around me as I fall into the emotion

That's how this afternoon felt

Words like

"meloncholy"

"velvet"

"wisp"

and

"whisper"

Sad...because a friend was leaving

A smile -- because another friend had stayed

The day soft

I wrote the sorrow away from my heart

The emotions coraled into a box of words

Put back into Pandora's Box

Only this time Hope

Outside the box

Free

Falling up

As I move through the soft in slow motion

Soft word on the lips

My mind's eye comforted

Writing in slow motion

My heart sings

Please don't be angry with me

All unintentional

I have to write

You

Soft

Kind words for kind hearts to hear.

Not to worry friends of mine.

The Constant Heart

Weathers all storms.

If hearts be kind?

Then hear me now

Your love I honor.

But if hearts be foul?

On love's rocky road?

Your love may sour.

Think well this path.

Think well his hour.

Both hearts of gold

An hearts that are foul.

Have tried this road.

Heard Jaguar's howl.

Many have tried

And many have failed.

A heart of gold will serve you well.

So what's this path

That you seek here?

The path that true love holds so dear?

Tis' path of love you wish to take?

Your path be clear

And love you'll make.

But once again

I do plead now.

That this fair journey

Can sometimes be foul.

So bring a love, a watch and a compass.

And bring truth and reason

Be ready for love's rumpus

She wrote about her experience in " MIS: revolving sideways."

"...I was revolving.

Then evolving,

And again revolving

Through my life.

Then revolving simultaneous evolving.

Spiraling upward.

Such was life.

Then you left me

Spinning silent

as spinning in a vacume is.

Now still revolving

while evolving.

Still a spiral.

Only which way?

We Are Nomads Of The Sea.

Hannah Murphy. 17 August, 08

We are nomads of the sea.

Restless souls looking for peace

Never putting our heart's feet on dry land

Like a stone our spirits skim across the salty Gulf

The songs of Wind lull us to sleep

Rocked in the arms of the wreckage

The souls of waterbabies rocked in the waves...

The tears of angels rain down upon us all.

As they look into the eyes of God

Praying,

"Give them back their home."

Flowers in Summer
by hannah murphy 7-12-08

Flowers in summer
The heat of noon
Ice tea and salads
The smell of roses fills the room
Ladies drift in cool summer dresses

Hat and gloves

We speed through this life in armor and steel
Hardened and wise in steel high heels.
But ladies who lunch in those cool summer breezes
Haunt like a ghost
Gosemer ghosts who float on the breeze.
Glide through my mind
On this hot, dusty road.
Like the ghost of a gentle mirrage

Poem dedicated to LadyWhitknee to say thank you for her kind encouraging post. Regardless of the detours of life, let's keep our eyes to the stars.

Thought any other way and my heart grows green

Sickly with the forced responsibility of this love.

Chained to a rock my heart. Dusty relic on the shelf.

Each rare laugh the efforts of Hercules.

The sound shatters and falls to the ground.

Shards of brittle laughter are all around me.

My body in turns hurling and creeping towards death

Towards the edge of light and shadow

My mind. banshee, howling cross oceans

Waiting for the sound that doesn't come.

Home

Waiting and calling

Longing for the soul that long since found it's home elsewhere.

Crying for husband

Still waiting like a ghost trapped in twilight.

Banshee cries home.

The Neti Pot and me.

...drip...

...drip...

...drip...

If my nose drips one more time I will scream.

Mucus from my nose doth stream

I can not take another day

From allergies that come from hay

I live beside a great big field

With tons of pollen it doth yeild.

All conspire to bring me pain

Unless perhaps the sky will rain

Oh hurry rain do not delay

Rid my air of pollen hay

If you don't then in misery I

Will be with out the rainy sky

If it don't rain I'll have to choke

On saline water from this little boat

Shaped Netie pot. Which is all I have.

This durn Netie pot is just as bad.

As the post nasal drip I have.

The only difference I can see

Is the length of my allergy misery.

I saw you look at her. I cried.

Saw the sadness that she missed.

Saw the tired within your eyes.

And the "breaking heart" she missed.

The bitter tears you cried inside.

Mourned the loss of that last kiss.

We always "knew" each other.

In ways she'll never know.

So cavalier her ways of love.

I saw this clear. And so-

Now here I lay.

Mute and still.

But very much alive.

Encased inside this tearless room.

Crying tearless tears inside.

Its a Monday morning thing

You and me

The nuts and bolts of love

The work horse of emotions

As in the world we go

To our lives and jobs

Separate in our lives

And yet I know

You're there.

Not a Friday night adventure

Or a Saturday night affair

Those fleeting, flitting creatures

Who shun the light of day.

Capricious, ephemeral

Entertaining

But not much in the long run

Momentary silly things.

But Monday morning relationships

Stalwart grown up things

Like good friends.

Don't flit like silly Saturday

But dance elegant through our life

They waltz us through

The drudgery

Of our Monday morning days.

I wish that I could show you.

All our moments together

Points of color

They take flight like birds on the beach.

Points on a computer screen.

A swirl of color with no rhyme

Then like birds they settle down to form a picture.

A memory

If only I knew how to say

Then those restless colorful birds are points again

Taking flight.

Only to settle down into another pattern

Another picture

Another memory of our life.

We'd walk though the maestrom.

Those birds minutes flying around us free.

Surprises

A friend told me along time ago about his walk on the beach. He was walking along the beach at night. He could hear the Irish sea but what he saw was inky black. No moon or light. That was how he came upon what happened next. One minute he was in his thoughts and the next minute he was in the middle of whirring. All around him the sound and feeling of birds flying. All around him? Confusion.

He was roused from his waking dream *

PS (Just not for penguins.)

Introspection? It's a b9tch. Honestly. How do you take a photo of the landscape inside your head?  All you've got is some kind of  strange glow or maybe a graph.  How do I show you the color of cerulean in my head?  Even the Pantone scale could be different for you than it is to me.

How do I show you the color of love?   Is it green or is it read like "cheeries"?

What color is "sunsilly" anyway?

I've waited so long to take this trip.  Then you didn't come with me so I had to go alone.  It's just been so long and I've come so far. I'm too far. Can't even hear you in my head anymore.  What if I've gone so far that the "gravity" of you has no pull any more. What if I'm free?  Is this what I want? To be so far out there that you are only a dim star. A dim memory?  If I go back will you pull me back in or have I changed?

I remember you, Penguin. Your love of the cold and your happy feet. The sound of you dancing across the linoleum in the morning. How could you be so chipper and so cold at the same time. I asked you, "Are you dancing to beat the cold?" You looked at me but didn't answer. You never did. It was our down fall. All that silence eclipsed every happy beat.

LOL

Come one penguins. Please. Please read my blog.

Then? I can close up shop. Go off into the Internet sunset happy.

I hate to whine but you guys are just not helping.  At this point the only continent who's yet to read my blog is yours. Yes, yours. Antarctica has yet to read my blog.

What do I have to do?  I did the penguin dance.  I sang the penguin song.  No, I didn't go see HappyFeet 3D. I was busy writing this blog and doing stuff but that's no excuse for you NOT reading.

You just have to read it. You don't have to post.

If you do?  I write you a poem.

Your very own, "She wrote this just for me."  poem.

Come on.

"...In a box, back of the closet, there are letters and photos. If the photos were like youtube videos, I could touch them and the memory would come alive. There's one of you sleeping. Out of focus. You sent it to me when we first stared writing. If it came alive it would be years later. In Dublin, you asleep next to me. I can hear you breathing. Such a short time that we were allowed to see each other then back to distance and voices on the other side of the world. For so long, even after we went our separate ways, a part of me believed that someday we'd be in the same place. In the same galaxy. You'd be there and the world would be right again. Then one day I woke up and wondered wear I was. Got out of bed. Anywhere better than here..."

"...It happens every time I hear an Irish accent. Every time. I turn round to look. I saw my face in the window of a department store in New York. I'd heard it again and turned round to see myself in the reflection. I saw what the rest of the world saw. Clear. I reached out to touch the reflection. To console it. A ghost haunted. The face changed to compassion and then a smile flooded that face.

'What are you looking at?' said the voice. It was inside my head and it made me believe in the Jungian. I believed that somewhere you could hear me. I wasn't just talking to myself. I closed my eyes and felt the coin in my shoe. It was digging into the bottom of my foot. Like the memory of you it irritated. I didn't give up.

You did."

"Who do you think you are?"  he asked.  The look in his eye was fierce and unkind. At that moment? I knew that he didn't care for me at all. Never would. There was no excuse for it. No reason to endure any longer."

Funny thing.

Of  all the people who've come and gone in the revolving door of life? Not a one of them looked at my boat and dreamed.  Some were skeptics. Some? Just out right complainers.  One came all the way just to say that it was a POS.

I just sat quiet and let them do their thing.

Now that they've all come (and gone) I can sit quiet here in my little Zen garden and think of my dad's boat.  For many many years people came and went. Even the preacher offered to go out on the second trip. "I'll pray for you on the river bank on this first voyage.", he told dad.

So I'm sitting here thinking of of them all and I'm wondering just what I was trying to do.  It took a while but I finally heard that voice of  (my) reason inside my heart.

"You'd be wanting a pragmatic optimist.  A dreamer of stories but a doer of things. Someone who can entertain themselves throught the rough patches but not someone who wants to live there. You'd also be wanting your own so that you don't ever have to settle. Mostly you really don't want someone who'll be asking 'Just who do you think you are?'  nor  telling you that they were gonna' show you your place. No one who you know deep inside really doesn't like you very much. You deserve better."

We all do.

I've seen some hard times and heard worse from others.  What seems to keep me going forward has been the dogged determination not to go backwards.

I used to think that I had to go backwards to appreaciate the things life had given to me. Now I know that's just stupid.

I'm going forward.

Dare to be different.  Be happy.

As for Mr. Right?

Nothing has changed.

Never will.

In the mean time?

Got things to do.

"...

I once tried to look on the bright side for this guy on the Internet. He was busy complaining about how his Tuesdays always sucked.

I should have just agreed that his Tuesdays did indeed suck and then "walked away" -- really fast.

For two very long seconds I was stuck in the crap of his life.

Then he said something that has colored my perception of blog life for years.

He said, "I enjoy the piss colored rain so much."

Suddenly every relationship that I'd ever had with a man came into a sharp focus. All this time I'd been sunshine in the middle of a guy's thunderstorm. They liked it and I just got soaked. It was pretty clear that our interactions were NOT making rainbows.

No words of wisdom.

I have so much to do here. I don't even begin to know where to start it all. The weather's good. Really good.  Like a good hot sauce it''s all pleasant and spicey and good. It's exciting and a bit overwhelming and I know that if I stay here on the Internet writing, I won't get anything done.

So.

I'm gonna have to aske you to read what's here already. I promise to write. Kind of bloggy, postcardy letters from the road.

It's just that I have to be determined.

Focused.

At least focused for a slacker. LOLOLO>

I know that you understand.

Have craving. Want to turn on a tv set and hear the words, "Sooooouuuuullll Traaaiiinnn". It would be Saturday. Hot in the morning and then comes the rain.

On second thought?

A memory from my past.

From the summer of love and really bad weather. LOL.

Holy moley.

If  I can get someone to view my blog from Antartica, South America, and Africa?

I'll have views from every continent in the world. LOL

Anyone know anyone from those continents who'd give 12dots a view and I'll -- dunno --

Maybe I'll write them their very own poem.

An original.

Dedicate it to them.

How I Met Mr Write.

Meanwhile the wind blew, the rain fell, and we decided if it was better to brave the storms and go to fencing or brave the guilt and stay home.

Later gators...

The answer is?
It's got a great beat and it's easy to dance to.

And it tells a story...

Storms a brewin'.

(A thunderstorm not a metaphor.)

The dogs are trying their best to hunker down  and I'm fixin' to eat.

(I'd take a shower but that might not be the best plan what with thunderstorms predicted.)

So I'm a gonna go pee and then eat.

Pups cooked.

Smells good.

Hope all's well with you and yours.

I watch the LLS with tv's CF which lead me to this comment...  The post talked about CF's mention of Scotland's contribution to the Age of Enlightenment.

Then it linked to a vid of a dog chewing off a person's toe only they don't know it.

To me that is the humor of the LLSwTCF.  Kind of like a boomerang.

LOL, you do know that one of the links on this post is about a dog chewing off a women's toe (and that she doesn't even realize it's happening). http://www.omg-facts.com/view/Facts/48180

For some reason seeing the words , "...Their views were guided by reasoning and the rejection of authority that couldn’t be justified by reason...." on the same post as a link to a dog chewing off a woman's toe and she doesn't know it to be the kind of humor of CF's Late night television talk show.

"The stakes are high.
The water's rough.
But this love is ours..."

The first time I met my neighbor, she was working out in the yard. I remember how beautiful the yard looked.  So I did what folks do here, they ask how the person manages to get their yard looking so beautiful.

During the conversation she out of the blue told me that her husband would be back next month. "Business?" I asked.  The reply was no.  Her husband was in Iraq. In one of those moments where people instinctively know that a complete stranger could be trusted, she told me that she didn't talk about it much. Part of her was worried about being alone while her husband was so far away.  I told her not to worry.  They'd both be fine.

I'm happy to say that he made it back. He's nice. They both are.

I've started thanking people who have come back from Iraq. It's alittle weird because some of these folks are complete strangers.  I do it because of a guy I met on one of my trips.  He was a Vietnam veteran.  He told me, with tears in his eyes, that his return from Vietnam was rocky.  People weren't nice to him.  It wasn't that they ignored him or were completely oblivious to there being a wa-- I mean a military action in Vietnam.  If they had do so, it would have been easier. Nope. After a nightmare of a time in Vietnam, he returned home to complete strangers who hated him for being in the military. Didn't matter if he was drafted or if he volunteered.   He was trying so hard not to cry that the next thing I knew he had snapped to attention.  Everything but the salute.

He was still waiting for someone to welcome him home.

So when I see someone has come back safe and sound?

I say, "Welcome home."

and

"Thanks."

That's the truth.

    Wednesday, February 29, 2012

    And if it's Wednesday, 29 February, 2012.

I was going to write about Marilyn Monroe.

    But I am not.

I read once that you could gage how much of a narcissist a person was by counting the number of times they used the pronoun "I".

Not going to write about that either.

Nor am I going to ask random people to marry me for fun or profit.

Instead, I've been sitting here looking for downloadable images of an MC Esher drawing.

It's not the one of the drawing of a hand drawing hand even if that would be a good image for the narcasist comment.

    But no.

I'm trying to find the image of the optical illusion stairways.

No, not the one with the waterfall.

The other one with just stairs merging into stairs.

You see what I want to write about is about the interrelated nature of the mind and the concept of reality.

And compare it to the limits of the universe.

    Sounds grand but it's not.

    It's actually basically simple.

Reality can be defined into two waves:

    that reality that is

    and

    that reality that we percieve.

I wanted to wonder through the randomness of the human mind find it's limits and find the limitness of a random yet reality based creation.

It was called 12 dogs and a blog.

Through 12 dogs and the Interactive Blog Story, I took something that looked mundane and simple, everyday, and tried to give it the unlimited qualities of imagination.

Nothing gave me greater pleasure than to write that blog and then randomly click the blue links to see what story would unfold.

Even I was surprised at the multitude of  expected stories that could be generated.

    For me?

It was as if I could travel in time and the percieved reality that was my imagination.

    Even better?

I could invite others to go there as well.

The blog entries were realtime but  I could link back and forth to past blog posts. I could revisit or illuminate the present with an idea or post from the past.

God only knows the interelated nature of the logic.

It was one of the most fun things that I've ever written.

    Then it was deleted

    October 31st years ago.

Before it was deleted, I was able to cut and copy the blog.

    So did other folks.

The thing that they didn't realize was that there were puzzles about that blog that couldn't be cut and copied.

    LOL

    Anyway.

After the blog was deleted, I wondered around trying to find a new place to write my blog stories.  In an exhausted state I started writing here.

While this isn't 12 dogs, it's given me a place to be for a bit.

Now I have to decide where to go from here.

While 12 dogs taught me to write,

12 dots taught me how much I missed the Interactive Blog Stories.

It also taught me how much I missed writing for someone.

Because at 12 dogs I did indeed write for particular people in my life.

    Sigh.

    Here?

I don't really write for anyone.

    Not even myself.

I have thought very hard about deleteing this blog.

    I like writing in quiet.

I don't like writing in a fishbowl at all.

But there is someone who I promised to keep the light on for along time ago.

While I long ago gave up that I'd hear from her again?

I still keep the virtual "light on" my Internet front poarch just in case we cross paths again.

Please note that she is involved.

    I'm not a stalker.

This is mostly because of the way we met and the fact that she kept her promise to let me know when she left.

    When she comes back?

I want her to have this Zen Garden to come to.

    If you are new here?

    Welcome.

I don't write the blog stories because of how disheartening it was when they were downloaded by someone who tried to be Writing Buddy but wasn't.

    There is one Writing Buddy.

    .

    Now then.

Welcome to 12dots and a blot.
While it doesn't replace 12 dogs.
And it doesn't continue 12 dogs.
It has given me a place to rest.

    Thanks to the Zen experiment?

    I have a way point.

    (have aready written about it)

It's legal and moral and actually fun.

I'll try to write about it here but I might not.

Some days there's just not enough time to live a life and then write about it.

Have lots to do and writing here may get to be not so easy but write here I will.

Who knew that fencing could be so much fun?

For most of this experience it's been good, but that was just because the people were excellent and the class was well organized.

    But Saturday?

I got to actually fence with another person.

    Nice.

It's gonna take a bit of work to get to the "point" of it all but I'm thinking it is worth it.

     . It's  a mental game.

    Fast.

    Good.

    Seriously good.

I may be "gawd awwful" but ....

If you're going to spend the seconds of the day doing something?

The endevor should be worth the effort.

Fencing, like sailing, is not boring.

You're chasing the new every minute you engage in the process.

Almost as good as the time we were in the boat and it spun out of control but we didn't lose it.

    (Honest it did.)

But where while sailing is grace and power.

    Fencing is speed.

I kind of like this "place".
There is something about this combination of people that's right.

There's a hum like electricity here.

    .

I'm gonna stick around for a bit.

Hmm but since Feb 29th comes BEFORE the next class. I'm thinking of taking a detour ...

If a car dealer has a car that isn't selling, he or she can send it to the auction.

If that car dealer will only sell it to you if you buy it WITHOUT  at least sitting in that car?

Well after all they did say that they were sending it to the car auction.

    There is ALWAYS another boat.

Life after all is in the details and in the case of this blog?

    In the comments.

    .
    .

I talked to my dad today. He can walk and talk and he was asking about buying a sailboat. He could sail it if he wanted.

I have tried most everything I know to replace being on the water and there's just not anything. Don't get me wrong, I love my son and WB is okay but I would be less of a person if I kept staying on dry land. Soon I would dry up to dust. I'd like to save that for the day when my soul is no longer on Earth and that thing known as my body melts into the dirt.

    http://teachertomsblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/now-im-50.html

For someone I don't know in celbration of their 50th birthday.

He writes a pretty good Blogspot blog.

I'm not sure if you'll see this comment.

First, happy birthday. The second half of a century seems to be different. Like going from adolesent to adult, we're finally far enough over into second phase of life to be past the "average experience".

    Second?

    Hmm, here's a challenge.

Can you express one experience today in one word? Will that word be inclusive enough so that I, a complete stranger, would understand not just the basic emotion but also specifics of the event.

For example, I can could use the word, "wet" to describe today because it did rain but I'm not sure if it's specific enough to ensure that the response would be atmospheric. After all the word "wet" could describe a sunny day at the beach or giving the dog a bath.

So there's the challenge from a complete stranger to celebrate their birthday.

I hope that the one word for a day this year is "bliss".

    Hugs,

"I don't spend alot of quality time with My Little Pony dolls, but I'm pretty sure that their eyes arent supposed to glow like that."

"Yeah that pony has a Rays of Death mod and I'm thinking that it's not supposed  to shoot Rainbow Skittle Bombs out of it's butt. "

"Mooooommmmmyyyyyyy, My Little Pony just fried Fluffy with a death ray."

    .

    .

On Saturday mornings, I wake up, dress, drive, and then put my body through stuff.

I'm the oldest in the group.  It's possible that I'm so old that I could be the mom to one or two of the fellas who teach the class. I know that I'm old emough to be the grandparent of the youngest.  I'm writing this because of my dad.

My dad quit smoking when he was my age.  He would tell us that the only way he did it was to say no to it. Self control.  And he did quit for years and years until his  70's when he started smoking cigars. He'd sit out on the back porch and smoke. My mom complaining about it.  I'd ask him why after years he went back to a habit which he swore to us was bad for our health.

    "Because now I can."

This isn't an example of great writing. It's just a short hand reminder of what my obligations to this life are and are not.

    And that life changes.

    For instance?

For years I was not able to sail a boat because I worried that, if I got hurt or if it were too expensive,  I'd cause problems for my Pup.

Now like late Winter? I can feel Spring approaching and the strong strong urge to climb "mountains" that my family told me were not for me to climb.

    And I left a friend.

A good friend who I could talk to at anytime.  I once called him at 3am.  I heard his sleepy voice on the other end of the line and half expected him to yell or hang up.  He never did.  Not until much later when we'd had our disagreement. Even then he didn't hang up. He didn't talk. He let me try to explain.

I tried but the obligations of my life were there.

    Life chose for me.

The last time I mentioned this to my father, he told me that it was done. "The past is the past."  he told me, "You can not go back. It's done."   I know that he said that because he wants me to be safe. If it were up to him, I'd be happily puttering around the house.  I tried. I'm not good at puttering.

WB is good at it but I'm not.

I've been trying hard to explain.

What I want to do is neither illegal nor immoral.

My obligations aren't the same as they were.

Note to self. In my Great Aunt's obit, it stated that she went fishing in Alaska in her 90's.  She lived to be more than 100.   She didn't die of old age or failing body. She died of a broken heart. Her best friend in the world died. No matter how many people talked to her, she felt in her heart that she was the "last dodo".

If I've learned anything from my Great Aunt's life it's that you make the choice to live your life.  Yes, there may be realities but there are choices too.

I don't not have to ever be the "last dodo" but if I am the last of my kind?  I shouldn't waste my time complaining about it.

Not while there is so much in this world to see.

    .

The Further Advanetures of Plastic Man

Somewhere in the middle of PlasticLand

There lives the life a real live man.

    Through the storms

    He makes his plans

    .

Why is it only men who make their ideal?  Pygmalion? Made by a man. Pinocio (spell it? I can't hardly keep my eyes open to type), again made by a man.

What type of ideal would be made by a woman?

I'm worried that we'd make such a flawed  individual (because we do like our bad boys) that he'd ruin our world before we could "fix" him.

    Think about it.

Note. I had little to no sleep last night. Drove along way, slept with crank dogs , I'm trying to stuff a biscuit in my mouth, drink a glass of milk, listen to cranky pups, listen to cranky Pup.

The two legged one is now in the car complaining, "We are late. Stupid writers."

    Sorry for the typos.

    Rough draft.

    Veryyy.

    There was Ed.

    Now that's television.

LOL I'd write a fiction book about it but well it's already been done better than I could ever do. So I'll pass.

    Hugs.

LOL I have alot to do this year.

Hugs again. I don't know why people are reading this blog. Maybe they aren't. Maybe I'm some middle of the night rss feed addition that they forgot about?
    Dunno.

What I do know is this >

    I'm a writer.
    I'm a mom.
I have a boat that needs work and animals that need feeding.
My life has been puncutated with some pretty odd occurances which I try to have a sense of humor about.
I've had friends who I loved dearly but now don't see.

    And?

I write a blog that has to have a disclaimer so that you, Gentle Readers, don't think I'm nuts. LOL, Repeat after me

    Welcome to 12dotsandablot.
    It's a writer's journal.
    It is NOT a diary.

    Thanks.

Sigh, and Newt? If you are out there reading this? I miss chatting but mostly I miss your music choices. I miss your advice. Heck I miss hearing about Lexi. I miss you friend Newt.

LOL, I'm listening to Macy Gray at the moment. Who's going  to remind me that there's more music in the world. LOL, I'm actually listening to

Honestly. Can this be a good idea?

(Grumble. I use to listen to the Late Late Show to keep my musical mind from atrophy. Now? Nope. No music. No words to set me back on my heels in thought. Instead? Sophmoric. I don't mind sophmoric if it makes me laugh. I've laughed at fart jokes. But this isn't the same. What worries me most is that the show will turn into a late night version of A Star Is Born. Next think I know, the robot skeleton will be hosting The LateLateShow and Craig Ferguson will have either quit or will be enshrined in that "carbonite" known as the 11:30 late night talk show hour. Ack. Grumble. Grumble. Ack. Ack.

I'm channeling Newt conversations to keep from being bored. Staying up late with the hopes that LLSwithCF will come out of the doldrums. Hoping that someday I'll look in my comments and see some smart azz comment from Newt.
    Otherwise, I write.

    Sigh.

And trust me. I am a writer. My real life is different.

    Sometimes.

    "...

I'm in the bathroom of this book store when a voice floats out of no where.  Not asking for toilet paper,  I hear this voice from the other stall asking  "I'm sorry. I'm doing research for a book. If you could identify one thing in your life that does or would make you happy? What would that be?"

Yes, these are the EXACT words coming from inside the bathroom stall. I'm thinking that if I didn't wash my hands I could escape. Unless they'd looked at my shoes? How would they know who I was?
I'm looking at the space under the stall door. The jeans that were around their ankles aren't and I'm hearing the sound of a zipper. I'm not moving.

"It could be just one thing. Doesn't have to have happend. Maybe something that you think would make you happy if it did happen ..." The stall door is opening. There's still time to move.
    I'm not moving.

    Dear Pup,

    "You gotta be..."

    ?

    You.

    You've gotta be you.

I can talk to you about my life.

I can be there if things go wrong.

    But really.

You have to do the work of life.

    Good news?

    You're up to the challenge.

    Now then.

    I'm not leaving you.

I'm saying  you've always got a place at my table.

    Now go live your life.

    It's will be okay.

    If it's not?

    Then come sit besides me.

    I'll hug your neck.

I'll give you a place to heal.

I'll kick you back out into the world when you're better.

    I'll tell you,

    "You ll be okay."

    "You aren't alone."

    Hugs,

    Mom

    Hmm

    BBL.

Oh and I hope that you had a nice day yesterday. I didn't. The day once again sucked.  You see this is why I hide out  here until it's over. No matter what I do Fate shows up and gives me a gigantic "bitch slap".

I was going to appologize for whatever I've done to pizz off Fate.

    Then I thought about it.

VD only comes once a year and I didn't do it.

I just want to sleep with you but I heard you tell a friend that you're only interested in guys with a sense of humor. Thought I'd cut to the chase. So the joke is 'Two guys walk into a ba-" Which is when I turned around and walked far, far, away. ...." From something I wrote but can't finish because the dogs, uh the dogs, are wanting to go out for walks and I still haven't put on my pants. Going, going, gone until all here is walked, feed, and has lap time. Then? I'm gonna take a bath and a nap. Talk to me. ."

"Oddly enough, I'm not mad at the dog for making 'poopy' on the floor. I'm mad because I stepped in said 'poopy' at the exact minute that I had to 'pee'.

All I could think about was, 'Lift lid, lift lid again because it's a crap lid, pull down pants, sit down, and do not - do not put your left foot on the floor because that squishy feeling on the bottom of your show is 'doggy poop'  ".

Someone, who I've know for years, told me that to use the phrase, "I've seen you 'naked'.",  was crude.

So I'm making him a character and putting him the above situation.

    :D

    .

"I've seen you  ' naked '."    phrase indicating how well you know a person.  You don't have to have actually seen the person naked. It's "naked" not naked.  Actually it's "I've seen you "nekkid".  Which here in the Deep South is probably the way you say it.

    Nooooo it's probably more like,

"Don't be trying to pull that stuff on me? Bless your heart, honey, I've seen you "nekkid"."

    Translation?

    "Get real."

LOL finally got the dog poopy off my shoe.

    The disclaimer.

    This is 12dotsand ablot.

Fact and fiction co exist here.

I you don't know which is which.

    Do not ASSume.

    Ask.

    For example?

I am seriously in love with that big screen tv.

    And that is a fact.

    .

    .

    .
    .

    .

I usually reference this  particular scene when talking about love and interpersonal relationships.  Sure the idea of every morning waking up to someone who's hanging on my every word would annoy. I have two dogs who sleep with me and trust me when I tell you that when that much "enthusiasm" wakes you up in the morning?

    It's annoying.

But the idea that each person has a situation that makes them happy isn't annoying.

For most of our lives we settle because we're told that it's just the reality of life. I don't think it is. You may not be able to order up Mr. Perfect but you can know yourself so that if he did show up on your door step?

    You'd recognize him.

And the little things do matter.

I don't want the boundless attention of someone every morning.

I do want someone to actually like me.

    That's important.

    I don't hate Valentine's Day.

    I just dread it.

    All those flowers.

    All those people in lurve.

If you aren't in a relationship?

This stuff can make you feel like the biggest loser on the planet.

I'm tired of making the best of it.

    I really and truly am.

I'm not going out an celebrating my unique self on the 14th.

I'd like someone to send me flowers because they care not because according to the "check list of love" it's expected.

    I'd like someone to care.

Life is interesting when you're with someone who gives a damm. The world's not so big and scary.  No matter how dark the night?

There's some lovely window with a light on and some person that gives a dam if you come home.

    I'd like that.
