For someone I don't know in celbration of their 50th birthday.
He writes a pretty good Blogspot blog.
I'm not sure if you'll see this comment.
First, happy birthday. The second half of a century seems to be different. Like going from adolesent to adult, we're finally far enough over into second phase of life to be past the "average experience".
Second?
Hmm, here's a challenge.
Can you express one experience today in one word? Will that word be inclusive enough so that I, a complete stranger, would understand not just the basic emotion but also specifics of the event.
For example, I can could use the word, "wet" to describe today because it did rain but I'm not sure if it's specific enough to ensure that the response would be atmospheric. After all the word "wet" could describe a sunny day at the beach or giving the dog a bath.
So there's the challenge from a complete stranger to celebrate their birthday.
I hope that the one word for a day this year is "bliss".
Hugs,
AuthorAnn

My Little Pony....of death !!! Dum dah dum daaaaah duuuuuum
.
If My Little Pony was made for the Sky Rim crowd.
Oh wait.
"Oh look, Johnny, you're weird Aunt Rosie gave your little sister a My Little Pony. Isn't it cute."
"Uh mom?"
"Yes dear."
"I don't spend alot of quality time with My Little Pony dolls, but I'm pretty sure that their eyes arent supposed to glow like that."
"What?"
"Yeah that pony has a Rays of Death mod and I'm thinking that it's not supposed to shoot Rainbow Skittle Bombs out of it's butt. "
"Mooooommmmmyyyyyyy, My Little Pony just fried Fluffy with a death ray."
"My Little Pony of Death" coming to a Mega Mart near you.."
Note: It took us a couple of time to watch the first time we were laughing hysterically so all we could see was the cute little homicidal My Little Pony. Thank the Lord for subtitles.
"Myyyyyy little ppppoooooonnnnniiiieeeee."
TASTE THE RAINBOW. TEE HEE.

On Saturday mornings, I wake up, dress, drive, and then put my body through stuff.
I'm the oldest in the group. It's possible that I'm so old that I could be the mom to one or two of the fellas who teach the class. I know that I'm old emough to be the grandparent of the youngest. I'm writing this because of my dad.
My dad quit smoking when he was my age. He would tell us that the only way he did it was to say no to it. Self control. And he did quit for years and years until his 70's when he started smoking cigars. He'd sit out on the back porch and smoke. My mom complaining about it. I'd ask him why after years he went back to a habit which he swore to us was bad for our health.
"Because now I can."
This isn't an example of great writing. It's just a short hand reminder of what my obligations to this life are and are not.
And that life changes.
For instance?
For years I was not able to sail a boat because I worried that, if I got hurt or if it were too expensive, I'd cause problems for my Pup.
Now like late Winter? I can feel Spring approaching and the strong strong urge to climb "mountains" that my family told me were not for me to climb.
And I left a friend.
A good friend who I could talk to at anytime. I once called him at 3am. I heard his sleepy voice on the other end of the line and half expected him to yell or hang up. He never did. Not until much later when we'd had our disagreement. Even then he didn't hang up. He didn't talk. He let me try to explain.
I tried but the obligations of my life were there.
Life chose for me.
The last time I mentioned this to my father, he told me that it was done. "The past is the past." he told me, "You can not go back. It's done." I know that he said that because he wants me to be safe. If it were up to him, I'd be happily puttering around the house. I tried. I'm not good at puttering.
WB is good at it but I'm not.
I've been trying hard to explain.
What I want to do is neither illegal nor immoral.
My obligations aren't the same as they were.
Note to self. In my Great Aunt's obit, it stated that she went fishing in Alaska in her 90's. She lived to be more than 100. She didn't die of old age or failing body. She died of a broken heart. Her best friend in the world died. No matter how many people talked to her, she felt in her heart that she was the "last dodo".
If I've learned anything from my Great Aunt's life it's that you make the choice to live your life. Yes, there may be realities but there are choices too.
I don't not have to ever be the "last dodo" but if I am the last of my kind? I shouldn't waste my time complaining about it.
Not while there is so much in this world to see.

The Further Advanetures of Plastic Man
Somewhere in the middle of PlasticLand
There lives the life a real live man.
Through the storms
He makes his plans
.
Why is it only men who make their ideal? Pygmalion? Made by a man. Pinocio (spell it? I can't hardly keep my eyes open to type), again made by a man.
What type of ideal would be made by a woman?
I'm worried that we'd make such a flawed individual (because we do like our bad boys) that he'd ruin our world before we could "fix" him.
Think about it.
Note. I had little to no sleep last night. Drove along way, slept with crank dogs , I'm trying to stuff a biscuit in my mouth, drink a glass of milk, listen to cranky pups, listen to cranky Pup.
The two legged one is now in the car complaining, "We are late. Stupid writers."
Sorry for the typos.
Rough draft.
Veryyy.
.
Funny, but it's at this moment you'd get lucky.
Archaic ref. (Calgone take me away.)
So I'm thinking that the creation's name? Calgone
LOL and it was a woman who created the character Frankenstein.

Way before there was a Kardashian or the Jersey Shore or My Sweet 16?
There was Ed.
If you get a chance to see this movie? Do it.
LOLOLOLOLOOOL
Now that's television.
LOL I'd write a fiction book about it but well it's already been done better than I could ever do. So I'll pass.
Answer to the question?
"Would you rather be rich or famous?"

LOL I have alot to do this year.
Hugs again. I don't know why people are reading this blog. Maybe they aren't. Maybe I'm some middle of the night rss feed addition that they forgot about?
Dunno.
What I do know is this >
I'm a writer.
I'm a mom.
I have a boat that needs work and animals that need feeding.
My life has been puncutated with some pretty odd occurances which I try to have a sense of humor about.
I've had friends who I loved dearly but now don't see.
And?
I write a blog that has to have a disclaimer so that you, Gentle Readers, don't think I'm nuts. LOL, Repeat after me
Welcome to 12dotsandablot.

Sigh, and Newt? If you are out there reading this? I miss chatting but mostly I miss your music choices. I miss your advice. Heck I miss hearing about Lexi. I miss you friend Newt.
LOL, I'm listening to Macy Gray at the moment. Who's going to remind me that there's more music in the world. LOL, I'm actually listening to
Honestly. Can this be a good idea?
(Grumble. I use to listen to the Late Late Show to keep my musical mind from atrophy. Now? Nope. No music. No words to set me back on my heels in thought. Instead? Sophmoric. I don't mind sophmoric if it makes me laugh. I've laughed at fart jokes. But this isn't the same. What worries me most is that the show will turn into a late night version of A Star Is Born. Next think I know, the robot skeleton will be hosting The LateLateShow and Craig Ferguson will have either quit or will be enshrined in that "carbonite" known as the 11:30 late night talk show hour. Ack. Grumble. Grumble. Ack. Ack.
I'm channeling Newt conversations to keep from being bored. Staying up late with the hopes that LLSwithCF will come out of the doldrums. Hoping that someday I'll look in my comments and see some smart azz comment from Newt.
Otherwise, I write.
Sigh.
And trust me. I am a writer. My real life is different.
Sometimes.

"...
I'm in the bathroom of this book store when a voice floats out of no where. Not asking for toilet paper, I hear this voice from the other stall asking "I'm sorry. I'm doing research for a book. If you could identify one thing in your life that does or would make you happy? What would that be?"
Yes, these are the EXACT words coming from inside the bathroom stall. I'm thinking that if I didn't wash my hands I could escape. Unless they'd looked at my shoes? How would they know who I was?
I'm looking at the space under the stall door. The jeans that were around their ankles aren't and I'm hearing the sound of a zipper. I'm not moving.
"It could be just one thing. Doesn't have to have happend. Maybe something that you think would make you happy if it did happen ..." The stall door is opening. There's still time to move.
I'm not moving.

Dear Pup,
"You gotta be..."
?
You.
You've gotta be you.
I can talk to you about my life.
I can be there if things go wrong.
But really.
You have to do the work of life.
Good news?
You're up to the challenge.
Now then.
I'm not leaving you.
I'm saying you've always got a place at my table.
Now go live your life.
It's will be okay.
If it's not?
Then come sit besides me.
I'll hug your neck.
I'll give you a place to heal.
I'll kick you back out into the world when you're better.
I'll tell you,
"You ll be okay."
"You aren't alone."
Hugs,
Mom

What will it be?
Hmm

Oh and I hope that you had a nice day yesterday. I didn't. The day once again sucked. You see this is why I hide out here until it's over. No matter what I do Fate shows up and gives me a gigantic "bitch slap".
I was going to appologize for whatever I've done to pizz off Fate.
Then I thought about it.
VD only comes once a year and I didn't do it.

Someone, who I've know for years, told me that to use the phrase, "I've seen you 'naked'.", was crude.
So I'm making him a character and putting him the above situation.
:D
.
.
"I've seen you ' naked '." phrase indicating how well you know a person. You don't have to have actually seen the person naked. It's "naked" not naked. Actually it's "I've seen you "nekkid". Which here in the Deep South is probably the way you say it.
Nooooo it's probably more like,
"Don't be trying to pull that stuff on me? Bless your heart, honey, I've seen you "nekkid"."
Translation?
"Get real."
LOL finally got the dog poopy off my shoe.

I usually reference this particular scene when talking about love and interpersonal relationships. Sure the idea of every morning waking up to someone who's hanging on my every word would annoy. I have two dogs who sleep with me and trust me when I tell you that when that much "enthusiasm" wakes you up in the morning?
It's annoying.
But the idea that each person has a situation that makes them happy isn't annoying.
For most of our lives we settle because we're told that it's just the reality of life. I don't think it is. You may not be able to order up Mr. Perfect but you can know yourself so that if he did show up on your door step?
You'd recognize him.
And the little things do matter.
I don't want the boundless attention of someone every morning.
I do want someone to actually like me.
That's important.
I don't hate Valentine's Day.
I just dread it.
All those flowers.
All those people in lurve.
If you aren't in a relationship?
This stuff can make you feel like the biggest loser on the planet.
I'm tired of making the best of it.
I really and truly am.
I'm not going out an celebrating my unique self on the 14th.
I'd like someone to send me flowers because they care not because according to the "check list of love" it's expected.
I'd like someone to care.
Life is interesting when you're with someone who gives a damm. The world's not so big and scary. No matter how dark the night?
There's some lovely window with a light on and some person that gives a dam if you come home.
I'd like that.

Best advice that I ever got was from my Mom and Dad.
"Do not look for trouble. It's looking for you so why should you help?"
"To make money you should have more coming in that outgoing."
"If you are worried? Clean something. Plant something. Go for a walk. Do not sit and fret. That way no matter what happens? You'll at least have something productive to show for your time."
"If the club you belong to has it's hand out for money but not for friendship?
There better be a very good reason why you're paying the dues. "
"Business? Is business."
"Married is married."
If a man tells you he's not the kind of man you should go out with? You might want to believe him."
And from my PawPaw?
"A man worth his keep will come to your house, get out of the car, go up to the door, introduce himself to your parents, hold the door open for you, open the car door for you, own the car you're about to drive off in, take you out into the world, bring you back at a decent hour, and then respectfully kiss you good night.
That man is a keeper.
He'll also get to bed early because he has a job.
A man who'll drive up to your house in a car he doesn't own, honk the horn, yell out the window, "hurry up", take you to a low dive bar, take you to some place in the middle of nowhere, bring you back home late and leave you to walk your own self to the door?
That man is headed for trouble.
Not for you."
"Having something constructive to do with your day even if you have the money to sit?
Is a good idea. Keeps you out of trouble."
"Do as I say, not as I do. I was young once. Learn from my mistakes."
"I'm in my 70's and here I am digging up a shrub by it's roots. Yes, I do have the money. Yes, I could hire someone. This? Let's me know -- who am I kidding."
"A rogue can make you laugh.
An earnest man can make you laugh.
Of the two?
The better bet is the earnest man."
"I married for sex and love. I stayed for the biscuits and gravey."
"If you have the faith of a mustard seed? You can move mountains."
"There is a big difference between being polite and being a doormat."
"When someone looks at you with glittery eyes, promises you the moon, and then smiles? Might want to wonder what they want."
My addition to the list.
"Long or short best not to waste the breath that you're given."
"Life is best experienced with a sense of humor. Just as easy to laugh your troubles away as to cry. "
"In life you ride many roads and live many lives. Breathe deep the laughter and pain."
"In life? There's always a new tomorrow. Keep calm and carry on."
"

"There is a big difference between being polite and being a doormat."
"When someone looks at you with glittery eyes, promises you the moon, and then smiles? Might want to wonder what they want."
My addition to the list.
"Long or short best not to waste the breath that you're given."
"Life is best experienced with a sense of humor. Just as easy to laugh your troubles away as to cry. "
"In life you ride many roads and live many lives. Breathe deep the laughter and pain."
"In life? There's always a new tomorrow. Keep calm and carry on."

I think that a right good paragraph or three would be in order. Pages of paragraphs, I say, lovely paragraphs detailing the times, good or bad, about the life of his right honorable Charles Dickens. Lovely tales detailing the life and times of all around him. Verbal portraits that entertain and , yes, educate. For are we not better having read the tale of little Tiny Tim. Are we not, each Christmas, reminded of the true meaning of Christmas? Are we not reminded to be kind to each other and not be a "Scrooge" to others?
And what about cultural differences and the luck we have having not been born to France during the French Revolution?
For today, (thanks Google), we are reminded that it is that dear man, author Charles Dickens' birthday. Today and everyday this year there are plans to celebrate his great tallent and the fact that he got paid by the word.
So stop your griping English Lit Class. Charles Dickens isn't your nemisis. Ah no, from what I've seen? He should be your patron saint. Expecially when a 300 word essay begins,
"Charles Dickens was a very, very, very, very, very, very important author from that jolly, jolly, jolly, jolly, jolly, jolly. (still have another 280 words to go better add another "jolly") jolly olde England...."
LOL.

Hear ye. Hear ye.
A bit of history relevant to the month of February 2012.
"...The first documentation of this practice dates back to 1288, when Scotland supposedly passed a law that allowed women to propose marriage to the man of their choice in that year. Tradition states they also made it law that any man who declined a proposal in a leap year must pay a fine. The fine could range from a kiss to payment for a silk dress or a pair of gloves..."
Finally are reason not to go into my VD hurricane hole.
Now then. If I ask as many men as possible to marry on February 29th and they decline? I could ask for a fine from each person who declines.
Hmmmm thinking, thinking, thinking...
I know, I could ask one of those guys in Australia. They're cute.

I smell maple bacon and orangejuice (fresh).
This is not fair.
Stomach is growling, "Feeeed me!"
This is what comes from being celibate.
No sex to distract stomach.
If I had sex? My stomach would be waaaaay too busy to worry with food.
Not even maple bacon with fresh orange juice would be a distraction.
Not even if it was served with in bed room service is a lovely B and B in New Orleans.
Grumbles.

Because deep down, past all the health food stuff ? I am southern in my heart.
This is the process. When the tomatoes are ripe in the gardens here? I eat the first real tomato "sandmich" Yes, "sandmich". Out comes the whole wheat bread (toasted), the bacon (fried), the mayo, and finally the un refrigerated, vine ripe tomato. The closest you can get to it is Campari green house tomatoes but that's as close as you can get. My dad used to have a garden in back of his house. It was huge. Alot of tomatoes. They'd can them and have them on the table in the kitchen. THE best thing in the world was to sit and eat tomatoes (with just alittle salt and pepper). The Sweet One Hundreds were like candy. In the winter? You'd open a quart jar of tomatoes add diced bell peppers and onions and salt, pepper, garlic. Simmer in a skillet. Pour over pasta and eat. The simmer changes things in the tomatoes. Heaven on Earth.
Warm and sweet on the tongue like a kiss.
Juicy.
Too bad Valentine's Day is in February.
Tomatoes, fresh from the garden, are the perfect fruit of love.
I'd eat a "tomayta samich" with this lemon ice box pie and a glass of tea.
Look out the window of my mom and dads kitchen. Be sitting there looking outside at the heat of the day. The grass green. The sky blue. Hot outside but cool under the airconditioning. :)
Nothing better on a hot day in July. I'm glad that I had that experience. Can still taste it.
"...Only two things that money can't buy and that's true love and home grown tomatoes..."

One Day
Kids grow up.
They out grow the careful construct we've spent year assembling for them.
They look us dead in the eyes.

Hide in the bathroom and do grown kid Lamaze
Keep breathing while they're outside the door,

Breath again.

Prayers to Senator Rick Santorum and his daughter Bella and the rest of his family. Salutes too to his daughter, Elizabeth, who took Senator Santorum's place in Florida. Couldn't have been easy.
No matter how you feel about politics? Senator Santorum's " heart " sure is in the right place when it comes to his family.
Hope that Bella will be much, much better.

Talk radio is gonna be abuzz.
Now I know I said that I'd stay out of politics but (lol)
In fairness to the current President. If he's repeated himself? It might just be because it's a Republican majority NOT a Democrat majority in the US Congress. He can suggest. He can threaten vetos. He can use the bully pulpit. He can do these things but we have to remember that it's the US Congress that writes, vets, and votes on the law. So if the Republican led US Congress doesn't agree? They don't vote for it.
Ask a member of the US (different than the state's Congress) why they are supporting issues different than the President. See what they say. Think about it. If you agree? Vote for them again but if you don't agree? You can find others to vote for. Heck, maybe you could run for office yourself.
Think about it.
Hugs,

You?
You have a choice.
You can look forward into your life.
You can look into the future.
You can shed the past sadness like a heavy coat.
You can cling to it and hide within it.
Now on a cold day?
Hiding warm and safe in that coat is good.
But on a sunny day like today?
Why would you hide in that sweaty, scratchy, uncomfortable existance?
Enough.
It's sunny.
Look at the faces offering hugs.
How will they hug you?
They'd try because they love you but would you ask them that?
Don't.
Enough.
Shed that dark coat and walk barefooted.

Very good idea to read the comment section of posts from now until February 15th. I'm writing in the comments as well as adding posts.
Still not comfortable enough on this blog to write Interactive Blog Stories. I don't know why. Well actually it's because the dang this are labor intensive. I'm a slacker and those stories are work.
Still I am writing now so maybe---
LOL The AtomAnt song, "Stand And Deliver" (this version) is kind of fun as a mind worm. Think it had something to do with the video but I'm going around the house singing, "Sttaaaaannnnddd and deeeliveeeerrrr..."

Soon will be Valentine's Day.
That holiday started by an old man giving gifts to someone much, much younger that he was.
I like to call it VD.
Now as said in previous post, I normally hide out in my Valentine's Day hurricane hole until all the sappy stories are over.
This year?
Trying something different.
Writing poetry.
Like this (tee hee)
My love,
Your lips are like two red hemorrhoids.
Whenever you do pout.
Which would explain the excrement
That come from out your mouth.
Your hair?
The shade of new mown hay.
'Cause you pissed your colorist off.
When you said he sounded
Like some two bit hooker with a hacking cough.
So here for you this Valentine's gift.
A tube of hemorrhoid cream.
Next time be nice to others.
Don't be so fecking mean.

It rained.
And it rained.
And then it rained some more.
The wind blew.
And it blew.
And then it blew some more.
In other words it was NOT a sunny day.
The dogs spent today growling.
They growled at each other.
They growled to them selves for no reason.
Pup tells me that he's under the weather in more ways than one.
WB arrives to say that he feels same.
The dogs growl some more.
With one or two more things to do?
I plan to turn on the tv and watch the Big Bang Theory.
Then it's out in the rain with condolences to the pup who has to go back out in the kennel.
Clean water for the chickens.
(I think putting out the water at night works better. This morning he tried to gore me with his chicken feet again.)
Check their food while he roasts - I mean - roosts.
Let the dogs run.
(While humming "Let The River Run" by Carly Simon)
Wash their bowls.
Make sure that the kennel is okay.
Pat the now unhappy pup on the head.
Go inside.
Hope that there is hot water.
(WB has decided to wash towels.)
Wash my hair and take a bath.
Go to sleep.
Ah and thank God that we only had wind and rain and that I met a really nice person this morning.
Sunshine during a hail storm meeting that man.
Hope that you have had, at the very least, and interesting day.
Good night.

First a call to R Burns
At sunrise we begin.
The journey at times light but often not.
The craftsman measures the journey.
With skill honed with years of practice.
In earnest he builds his legacy.
Working to see
That at the end of the day his life is square with his brothers.
But at the end of the day all is not work.
For there in the twilight.
He lays down his tools of work.
And begins to sing of company and joy.
So sing and be merry this night.
Sing of a day well lived.
Drink a toast to the kindness of the days before.
.
A toast.
Woman.
One look at you and I know for certain God exists.
For only an artist with divine talents could create.
Fair face.
Quick step.
A flash of eye and intellect that moves mountains with a brief wink.
Man crashes and thrashes about the Earth.
While you?
With one whisper, quiet the beast and humble him.
Iron wills in velvet.
We are blessed with your company.
Salute.
.
Poem/toast two
Man, how does one tame the wind.
Civilizations rise with you might.
The sound of your fierce nature trembles in the mountains.
Blessed with your noble call.
We answer.
Salute.

More poetry.
This is the sappy stuff.
I realize that Valentine's Day will be here pretty quick and alot of guys are in trouble because they're broke.
You need help?
Well guess what?
I used to be a Cupid.
Honest to goodness.
People paid me to send Valentines greetings to their girlfriends, wanna be girl friends, wives, ex wives, etc.
I was pretty good at it.
So while I normally hide out from today until Feb16?
I think this year I'll try something different.
To begin?
An original poem.
Honest.
Britta
My love is writ on her face.
The pink flush of new roses on her cheeks.
The blue of her eyes?
Is it wisteria or violets?
Depends.
Rare does she stare into my eyes.
Soon as the rose blooms.
She looks away.
In Spring she's dressed in periwinkles and the green of clover.
In winter?
Soft fluzzy sweaters like snow.

Ah love, you're like a big red nose.
On a clown.

Or maybe like that Brando scene.
The one with all the butter.
Big it is.
Your sorry azz.
What brays it's delusional song.
It brays and brays and brags it's length
While in fact it's short not long.
Oh I will sing a song my dear
Until the seas go dry
It's not the length nor breadth
My dear
It's the humor of the guy.
LOL.
I love poetry.

Deep, deep depths.
But truly
Bring a microscope
If you're to have
Any hope
of seeing this
supposed wonder.
Heralded by all this thunder.
It's not that grand.
This boastful plunderer.
Please, don't blink.
Or you'll miss what's under.

Finally
I hear that soon t'will be Valentine's Day or as I like to call it VD
And so?
An Ode to Valentine's Day
It tells us all.
How it pleases?
From what I hear?
It spreads diseases..

Note from Author Ann . What's not original is credited to the author. Any resemblance to you? We'll if there is I send my condolences to the tiny tiny tiny spear that you carry around with you. Nothing a sock and a good lie - I mean story - won't cure.
Back out into the sunshine which I hear is good for disinfecting things.
Ah sunny day,
Oh sunny disposition.

Few things are worse than being bored.
Let's see.
Ah so I was looking at the blog stats and there I saw that someone from the UK was reading my blog. Woke up this morning in such a sorry, sorry state. All self absorbed and weepy about my life. But then there it was someone reading my blog and then the blog was all a Twitter about it Being Robert Burns night tonight and what "party piece" by Mr. Burns will you be reciting tonight and well the person from the UK who read my blog was reading the blog post about the ants.
Which of course had Goody Two Shoes by Atom Ant as the song. (Stream of consciousness, for mercy's sake keep up)
Anyway.
Found this.
Like a dream, all the bits of unrelated flotsom and jetsum came alive
LOL
It goes like this.
Weepy over friend in Ireland which put me in a very sad mood. Gloom. Leads to blog where UK person is reading the post about Ants. I check the Tweets to find the quintessential now American Scot helpfully reminding us all that tonight is Burns night and do you have a poem for tonight. So of course, tonight being Robert Burns' night? I go looking for a poem but my mind being distracted by that Mind worm of a song Goody Two Shoes reminded me of Atom Ant which leads to this song which for some reason reminds me of a Robert Burns poem.
Mystery solved.
No longer weeping into my cereal.
Now mind is distracted and filled with joy at the idea of someone other than myself being in a tour bus for 7 whole hours listening to Robert Burns recitations.
I suggest Atom Ant.
.
(and yes, I did the run on sentences on purpose.)

In honor of my heritage
Dad's family came from Scotland but then so did half the pulp wooders round here. :D
So today is Robert Burns Day?
Instead of reciting poetry?
Here's a quote from a book entitled Robert Burns by JC Campbell Shairp
from page 72
"Burns have you nothing to say of this?" "Nothing, madam," he replied glancing over at the leader of the party, "for an ass is braying over it."
LOLOLO
Nothing says fun, fun, fun, like a 7 hour bus trip with mile after mile of Robert Burns recitations.
Ahhahahahahahahhahah.,
"Ohh my lurv is like a red, red, roooooossse."

Dear Person from the UK who has been reading my blog this AM,
Just wondering if I might know you. If so?
If so? You speak French and can tell me what the heck this song is about. (LOL, and you'd probably think it was funny. :/ maybe not. sigh)
Do you mind saying something?
Like maybe, "Hello."
What part of the UK are you from. Not complete geography idiot. Know that you could be from Ireland, Wales, Scotland, or England.
I'm delighted to have someone reading my blog from the UK and that you might have found the "ants" blog post. Not sure how you found it. Accident or devine intervention, each is an interesting road.
Anyway, hello, welcome, say something. I'd love to chat.

Politics free post. No agendas.
As I've already mentioned, I'm a writer. I like to write poetry and short story fiction.
There are so many different ways to tell a story.
I used to chat with a writer who's style was very much different than mine but good. Funny. She liked my stories. I liked hers.
Kind of like relationships, sometimes the people who are the most opposite can forge a relationship stronger than those who are the same.
She was one of the few people who made a promise to me and kept it.
And for a while she gave me a virtual place to be at a time when I really did need some notion of promises kept and kindness. I'm grateful to her.
Even though it would be a long shot that she would see this, I'm going to have faith that she will come across it someday and know how much our brief friendship meant to me. The idea that there are nice people in the world, that in their heart of hearts they are kind, keeps hope alive.
I'm keeping the light on thevirtual front porch on for you. There's food in the fridge and I've made a place for you to sleep. When you wake? There will be stories and a cup of coffee to share. Hugs.
Politics in the next post. I hope that you'll take the time to read the State of the Union speech. The president talked about alot of stuff so it might take a bit to absorb it all. Then please read the minority speech too.
Somewhere in all these words, I'm hoping that there is an answer for the problems that our country is having.
Keeping the faith and actually optimistic. No matter how different our solutions may seem, there is an answer for us all.
Honestly proud to be an American.

"In politics? The speeches are always pretty AND the "devil" most always is in the details."
I know that I don't usually write about politics in this blog, but I'm going to make the exception.
If you haven't already, I would suggest finding a written copy of President Obama's 2012 State of the Union speech and also a copy of the minority rebutal. Read it, fact check, compare your own experiences with that talked about during the speeches. Then, if you are able, listen to the speech with copy in hand. I know that it's time consuming but since President Obama is running for re election in November, think of it as preparation for the presidential election.
You should also think of the minority rebutal as preparation for the 2016 presidential race. The man who gives the rebutal speech was asked to run for president this year but declined. I think that he was worried that given all the problems in his party (Republican) as well as the country that he might loose in 2012. I'm also thinking that he might be using the next 4 years to build support for a 2016 bid.

Enough politics.
Added to the "already done list", took a nap. Yep, I did. Woke up feeling refreshed.

Out the door and into the world. The next several blog posts are different. Don't let it throw you Gentle Reader. If you have questions? Ask.
I'm glad to have readers but thought that maybe it was time for the old "12dogs" disclaimer. I've posted it on the old blog and this one too but maybe some folks missed it.
PS. While I'm certain to keep this blog up and running, I'm thinking it's time for a change - and a new writer's blog. I lost the last blog because the blog host stopped being a blog host. I just have an idea so that I can write fact and fiction and may need a new format. I miss the InterActive Blog Stories. Stay tuned. Will let you know when it's up and running. Will write here too. I have folks who read the blog from other countries. If you don't know what I'm talking about you can check here
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/23/birmingham-alabama-storm-2012_n_1223169.html#s632532
or Google.
Sorry for the serious nature of the post. These tornadoes have hit pretty close to home.
Family is fine. Talked to my mom. They're all okay.
Fact.
The tornadoes that ripped through parts of Alabama this past weekend did cause another mess. Some of the areas that were hit this weekend were also hit during last April's storms. Like I pay attention to hurricanes, I pay attention to tornado season. We live and have family who live in hurricane and tornado prone areas. We are well aware of what the tornado sirens sound like because we hear them. I know about evac routes and contra flow because we have family that have to evac when it's bad. So you learn.
Problem is that this years tornados are very, very early.
Is it Global Warming? I don't know. If you can help the folks who've been hit by this change, I hope you will. Many organizations are asking for money but there's other ways to help. There are clothing drives. There are blood drives. After the April storms, people who we know went to help and found out that the best thing they did was to listen. For some Alabamians this is the second year in a row that they've been hit with tornadoes. When it happens again? It's frightening. People can use a sympathetic ear to know that they aren't alone. They need to know that people do care about what they're going through. We aren't the only state that is experiencing weather problems. Texas and Californina have fires. There are hurricanes that have made it up the Eastern coast. You might not be there to help in the aftermath, but maybe if you Twitter to someone or pass along weather information that you see on your television that can help. Sending folks a hug helps. Just listening or chatting with someone on line can help. Weather reports and shelters, you might hear about it on your news cast or read about it on the Internet before we do.
In the aftermath of any weather problem, information is very important.
Accurate information is as important as a monetary donation.
If you can help? If you can Tweet to let others know about victims of the weather mess? I hope that you will help.
Please remember that the information must be accurate.
Thanks,
.
