Allert. Alert. Hey you!
Today is National Make a Difference Day. Today? I'm going to make a difference by smiling at everyone and saying, "Hello" to people.
What are you going to do?
If you are here to wonder like I do if God ever had a hang nail? Skip this post and go to the next.
If you are from Ireland and your name is David?
Hang on a sec.
And read this.
Dear David,
I am sorry.
There I said it and it only took 10 years give or take to do so.
You cannot seriously still be mad at me.
I am funny. I am sweet. AND?
I have my own sail boat.
:D
I'm also well on my way to becoming a tai chi "swan". Graceful would be my new middle name.
If you're from Ireland but are not named David?
Welcome anyway.
Regards,
Writer Ann
Now then, what if God was one of us?
.

"...I wonder, if we're made in Gods image, did God ever have a hang nail or a migraine or maybe labor pains? Did he or she ever pull an all nighter ?
Or cry?
Would you trust God more if he or she did experience the pains of being alive or would you rather God was above the suffering?..."

All women are beautiful.
If you want to see them shine?
Give them credit for all the good they do in life.
And a hug. Definitely a hug.
I'm "hear" but only for a little bit.
My stomach is grumbling. Part of me wants to go eat chips and the other part is saying, "Noooo. Be good. Eat the green veggies. Eat the orange carrots. DO NOT EAT THE ICE CREAM THAT'S HIDDEN
THE BACK OF THE FREEZER. STOP. RIGHT NOW. THIS IS YOUR GOOD SELF SPEAKING AND I. AM. NOT. KIDDING..."
I'm thinking of just drinking the chocolate syrup. I hear it's got healthful benefits to go along with all the sugar and fat.
Then again ice cream does have calcium in it. Calcium is good for my bones. Preventing osteoporosis.
That's important.
It's also breast cancer awareness month. Time to "man up" and wear something pink.
That? Really is important.
It's sunny outside.
Think I'll go take a walk.
BBL.

Dear God, I know that you're busy. What with famine, flood, wars, and other natural and unnatural disasters, you've probably got your handsful. But I was wondering, since you are the God to brought us the Duck Billed Platypus, Dick Chaney, AND Larry King? Could you please help me find other writers and videographers to write this with. I would just be tickled pink to help craft the humor that could result from this epic battle between good and not so good. Come on God, surely the higher up who developed Robot Chicken and Homer Simpson would like to see what can be done with this. I know I would. Hugs, AuthorAnn .

"...I'm a writer.
That's ONE of my jobs..."
Unless you ask WB and he'll say my actual job is to be some kind of voodoo Pin cushion that people can try to prick because their own life isn't exactly good. So they try to kick me instead.
That's his opinion.
When I started my experiement with the Zen moment, I didn't realize just how powerful the experience would be for me. That feeling of doing things for the joy of it. Waking up and saying to myself, "Now what can I do to reach my goals of..." and then doing them (remember all legal and moral) has been life changing.
For so long I've made my way in life thinking, "and is this okay with". I'm not being selfish. I do still consider other folks feelings but now I have this separate kind of self. Which is what FINALLY got me to say, "I'm going to take Tai Chi." Now the Tai Chi folks my philosphically (sp?) think that self should disolve. For me? I'm becoming aware of self.
LOL, wake up.
Anyway it's good for me. I go. I learn. I can't think of any other than tai chi when I do it.
And I'm reconnecting with my body.
There will be alot of "I" and "My" pronouns in the writing to follow. I will promise not to become boring narcissit (again sp).
Also should work on spelling.
Love and kisses,
Ann
PS. The celibacy thing isn't working for me.
And I miss David.
And I miss Newt/Lexi.
And?
I miss going to the theater.
.
It's still rainy outside. Woke up stretching like a cat and diving back under the covers.
Since I've yet to figure out how to exercise and write on the blog? I'm going to have to sign out for a bit.
Back later.
10-12-2011
Anne.
Hugs by the way. The thing I most miss about my old blog was the back and forth through time memory. I also miss chatting with Newt and hearing about Lexi.
And while I do love, love, love my dog? It's not exactly the furry face that I'm looking to wake up with.
LOL And that's when ... I've been coming to the place where I can say good bye to a memory. "Getting on with going forward" sounds like a cliche. Maybe its more "time to make a decision" or "perhaps you should stop procrastinating and just go say hello and find out what's next"?
Ireland is a long way away and he did say that he'd never talk to me again.
Maybe time has softened his heart. I don't want to keep "locked" in this memory box". "Whoa a oh oh. Changing is hard."
.
It's rainy and cool. I'm sitting on the edge of the bed covered in one of those soft polar fleece blankets. Domi is curled up in a ball. After weeks of heat it's as if someone FINALLY fixed the airconditioner and now it's lovely and sleepy and I'm thinking that if I could? I'd crawl back under the covers and read a book. Yesterday I was up at 4am washing clothes, feeding animals, cleaning pens, etc. Today? Well thanks to yesterday's industrious (spelling again) spurt, I've a kind of slack day.
The only thing missing is a good conversation in bed.
The kind that is about anything but bills, what Pups going to do, chores, etc.
The "R" word.
Romance.
LOL.
I'm thinking that the this road trip is necessary.
.

Dear Gentle Reader,
I was watching clips of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on the Youtube when I came upon a Karen Gillan interview which led me to a youtube with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan at Comic Con which led to a teaparty in the Tardis interview which led to a vid of how to make a Tardis bird feeder (starring Matt Smith) which led to the video above.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to make a vat large enough to hold the required amount of flour batter so that I can run across it.
So what's up?
I'm also still working on the tai chi.
And I'm thinking of going on a road trip.
With my dog.

Ann

Dear Gentle Readers,
Yesterday (on Groucho Marx's birthday, I think.) I gave the immediate family the heads up for the rest of the year. I'm not wasting any time with trying to convince anyone of anything. Instead will be going my own way. They're welcome to come along but if they'd rather not?
No worries.
For the already done list.
Sign up for tai chi.
I did and it's pretty good. Hard work but good.
Alot to do.
BB in a bit.
Hugs,

new experiment update...
(or a continuation of the already done list)
Tai chi looks easy but it is not.
Already I've found out that I walk like a duck with toes pointed out.
This has me practicing the fine art of walking. I've been walking for a very long time so I'd have thought that someone would have pointed out the fact that I walk like a duck, but no one has. Until now.
(They were very nice about it. And well now I know.)
Two.
Tai chi is really beautiful to watch. You get caught up in the grace and balance. You can get lost in in.
Unfortunately.
This is how you can get run over or lost in the middle of tai chi class.
It's okay. I hear everyone's done it.
C.
(Homage to CF of the Late Late Show)
I don't get to watch CF or the Late Late Show because tai chi is keeping me very busy.
Someone pointed out that my going to as many tai chi classes may be exposing an addictive personality.
It's not.
It is pointing out that I'm cheap and you only get charged one price for month and can go to as many classes as is possible. It's also pointing out that I don't like looking stupid and uncoordinated any longer than I have to. The more classes I go to the better I'll get. Beginnning tai chi, like puberty, is just one of those periods that you have to go through inorder to become a graceful tai chi swan.
4.
I've told my instructor that the last move that we learned will probably have me falling on my rear end in class.
She nodded wisely, smiles, and I think thought to herself, "Oh goody."
Everyone is nice and graceful. I aspire to be the same.
So it's practice practice, practice if I want to be one of the beautiful tai chi people.
Hugs,
Ann.
.
Now I know why people ask for personal trainers.
LOL
Still practice, practice, practice with tai chi but hey, I got a nifty tshirt.
For how to do the Pilates plank.

"...'The thing about sailing," she said, "is that, try as you might, you can't always directly go in the direction that you want to go. Sometime the straightest path is all angles...."

by C Anne Ford

.....(psst. I'm writing. )
"..... Jonathan had spent the last 6 years trying to get home. It should have been easy. The "to do" list. Go. Find job. Find apartment. Play deposit. Move furniture (or buy). Get groceries. Home. He did "go". Fall three years ago he and Sam had taken a whole week and flown the Cessna down to that tiny little air strip in the middle of nowhere. The guy that owned the airport lent them a car for a fee and they'd even contacted a real estate agent. It was beautiful. Not freezing and no snow like here in Vancouver. The leaves were beginning to change and there was that crackle of heat and sun right before the night's chill set in. They'd seen every available house the realtor said she had listed and even one or two that she knew might be coming up because of foreclosure. Sam had vetoed everyone of them. It took three more months before Jonathan found out why.
Sam was from New Orleans. Whenever they'd gone to see the "folks", It was like a tonic for them both. They'd even talked about finding a fixer upper on Esplanade. Something with a tiny front yard, lots of ironwork, a balcony, and a walled garden. They'd finally found the place and were in the process of finding financing when Katrina hit and there plans when poof. After all the excitement and then the let down, winter with snow and ice up your arm pits was too much. As soon as the call for teachers to help rebuild the NOLA schools came , Sam packed a bag and left.
'It should be easy.'

This is serious.
I found this blog http://www.realspaceman.net/ And thought to my self, "Wait a minute. I'm not alone?"
This is terrible. In order to be different, I'm going to have to get a real job, a retirement/health benefit, go online pretending to work when actually I'm just updating tweets, facebook, or my blog, get an on line honey, get married to online honey complete with virtual shower and virtual gifts, get fired for updating tweets, fb, my blog, having virtual sex on company time with my on line honey while simultaneously sending out virtual thank you notes for my virtual wedding gifts, stay home all day and update my tweets, fb, or my blog because I'm at home all day with no job so I'm depressed, get divorced because I'm speeding too much time tweeting my new online sweety and not enough time texting real wife.
I'm way behind the curve.
Good thing I opted for the chia pet.
But not the Obama chia pet. It's the Dick Chaney chia pet. Looks weird but it's oddly comforting when I water the top of it's head.
(Note to parents. Dear Mom and Dad, (I'm going to go ahead and write this now because I KNOW that this is going to come up and it's easier to do it now and just get it over with.) The chia pet line above is an attempt at a one line joke. You'll be happy to note that inorder to be different, I'm going to have to get a job. Yep, I thought you'd be "...pleased as punch..." to over this. Thought I might get a job as a joke writer on The Daily Show. No, I wouldn't expect that you'd know it. I'm sorry if the Dick Chaney joke sounded mean. You do have to write for your audience. No I'm not going to write for Fox News. I could send it in to Prairie Home Companion. NPR. No, they're not Comunists, they're Lutherans from Minnisota. Nice people. They make the green lime jello mold with the mini marshmellows that you like. Yes, those people. You like them because they're nice. Thanks for the suggestion. Since this is about growning plants I could send it to The SquareFoot Gardner. Of course I could put some seeds on it and send it to High Times. They might like the joke. Okay. Take care.)

Okay. Take care.)

I read something.
Gonna put it here and think on it some more.
Tracey Pakosta, who used to work at Craig Ferguson's production company, leaves Green Mountain West to go to NBC Universal as head of comedy. (According to the Internet this is true.)
NBC owns Showtime. At least I think so.
There's a new woman at Showtime.
Now I'm going to play a game of "What if..."
What if?
Craig Ferguson goes to Showtime and does something very much like Bill Maher only without the politics but with the unleashed "oolala"s and probably seasonal or once a year showing of his stand up as "pay for view"
Does This Need To Be Said?
With dvd or other rights.
What if?
He gets used to the culture of NBC while playing over at Showtime and producing comedies for Ms.Pakosta over at NBC. He's out of the 12:30ET basement over at CBS. The switch doesn't look cold hearted. He's not a Benedict Arnold. Nope. He's America's sexy Scot unleashed over at Showtime who'll love him.
Time ticks and tocks and then?
There's an epic battle between the sweetness and light of Jimmy Fallon and the very sexy, devil-may-care Craig Ferguson.
Who will win Leno's spot and Late Night America's heart?
Do I believe this stuff?
I dunno. There are a few plot holes and maybe even a plot twist or two or three. Depends.
I do know it is time for the game show that everyone loves to play ,
No, not the Price Is Right. But you're close.
It's time for spinning that Wheel of Fortune --
"Contract Negotiation Fun Fun Follies"
(CF and DL's contracts are up for renewal in 2012. This start must start early.")
LOL. Nuff guessin' Gotta go.
HUrray for Hollywood !

Made a great discovery this afternoon (please note that I said afternoon. My afternoon.)
I found out that there are people who I just don't like.
And some folks who I do like.
That was an important discovery.
Like crossing the Rubicon of personal relationships.
I used to dither. I use to dather about this person or that but now?
Not so much.
And even more important?
I've learned something nifty neat.
I don't have to speak to them if I don't want to.
I just smile sweetly and whisper something like,
"I'm resting my voice."
WB actually answered the phone and told the person who asked, "May I please talk to WB?"
"No you may not."
That's what he told them.
It was brilliant in it's honesty and simple construction.
I've added to this the phrase, " I'm not talking because I'm saving my voice."
That discovery was wonderful.
Can't wait to try it out.
Know the perfect time.
If you know me keep watching.
I won't lose my voice if I don't speak.
Instead?
I'll increase it's power when I do.
LOL
This is good.
.
Wonder what I'll learn this evening?
Man looks intense. Here's an idea. Just listen to the music. LOL.
(I'm sober. Imagine things drunk.)
Or maybe not.

Dear Person Who's On a Macintosh Reading My Blog,
Why?
I just write this blog.
I don't read it.
Well - maybe- sometimes - but not much.
Not like the old blog.
Now there? You could actually find writing that would entertain.
This one is more like upchucking or verbal diarrhea.
Not like the old blog.
There?
Was Haiku.
Was free verse.
Actually short stories that I actually worked on.
There if I got really bored I'd write odes to the "hemmorhoids" in my life.
Here?
Meh.
But if you could actually comment? I could be talked into writing something other than the word, "actually" in a semi literate sentence.
Here's an idea.
A challenge for us both.
I'll write one verse of a real life actual poem for every comment you post.
It's a bargain.
You type in something like "a;lslgue"
And I'll type in
-
uhm -
"...John has eyes.
Not like limped pools.
Not like jade or cinnamon or the blue skies of a June day.
These eyes are small.
The color of
Sad.
And they change colors like a mood ring.
You do know what that is? A Mood Ring? ...."
I know. It's free verse so I'm cheating a bit. I don't think that Iambic pentameter has come from this cerebral cortex in a while. But if I look around and find that a sonnet might be better than a snore?
If there was some reason to fire off a synapse or two?
I can wake up long enough to say or write something.
So?
Who are you behind that Macintosh?
(I'll have to make sure but I don't think that anyone has actually commented on this blog. The did on the other one but not this one.)

Okie dokie.
One more time.
This is 12dots and a blot
It's a writer's journal.
Fact and fiction co exist here.
For instance,
Fact? I'm a big fan of the men and women who risk their lives to make sure ours are safe. That would be policemen, firemen, Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard, ... you get the idea.
Fiction? Well there's poetry. And I used to write actual short stories.
:D
Anyway if you don't know which is the fact and which is the fiction. Please.
I'm really asking you.
Don't assume.
Ask.
Thanks.
The answer?
"Because I like to listen to it."
.
Today started off pretty good and still is.

"...The next day the Sun shone bright.
Brighter than the day before
The birds sang and the morning sky was blue.
How could they be so mean.
Didn't the Sun know that the world had stopped.
Birds.
Hold still your voice.
There is a shadow on my feet.
A hole in my heart.
Dark cataracts cover my eyes.
I tear my hair and throw myself to the ground.
Cover my ears to the sounds of life.
How can you sing
when my heart lies in the ground with the ones I love."
c anne ford
9-12-11
The thing that you learn when someone you love dies is that the world keeps on turning.
People will laugh.
The Sun will shine.
The sky will be in turns sunny and gray,
It's life.
And though you might not think so?
You do laugh.
It sneaks up on you.
It comes from somewhere that didn't disappear.
Like good friend it sits with you thought the tears and anger and the frustration.
When you yell , "Why?"
It whispers, "I don't know."
When you can't sleep, it tells you stories.
When you don't eat, it says, "Just a bite, please."
And on that day when you lay there covered in dispare and you say, "I can't."
It gently says,
"Yes, you can."
Then one day you forget a little and the sun shines on your face and somewhere you begin to notice that the world is full of laughter.
Other folks are hurting too..."
.And you get up.
Older.
Wiser.
You can see the pain in the world and you stop looking inward.
And you ask,
"How can I help."
.
Yesterday?
We turned off the television.
It wasn't because we wanted to forget.
It was because.
The thing is.
In our heart?
Love?
Is the only antidote for the sadness of this world.
A little candle.
Sometimes it flickers in the darkness.
But it's still there for someone to see.
Just in case someone needs a hand.
So we turned off the tv.
And we went to get some ice cream.
Trying hard to block out the world of sad memories.
But life happens.
As it will.
Yesterday, I stopped trying to block out the Sun and the rain.
Yesterday, I entered the river and did my best to help.
.
"... How can the world still spin.
How can the birds still sing.
Did God forget me?
No.
He taught me so that when a child cried.
When a father cried.
I could be there to help.
.
Thank you to the fire fighters, the police, the paramedics, and the kind souls who can see beyond their own lives to see and help others.
How lucky we are that you are in this world.
I didn't forget you yesterday.
I won't forget you today.
.
People are living because of what you do.
For all the anger that we see in this world?
Because of your brave kindness?
I know.
"Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world."
Hugs.
.
.I have great admiration for the very brave men and women who show up everyday to help others.
I can't do what you do/
I don't know how.
But I thank the good Lord above that you know how.
You are really and truly amazing.
Thank you.

My Brother The Deer Hunting Enviromentalist.
by Author Ann
My brother has been shooting at animals since he was 11 and skinning fish since he was 4.
His house? It looks like a natural history museum for deer parts.
He tells folks that he only shoots for for the table. Even donates deer meet to folks down on their luck.
This hunting for necessity doesn't explain the two huge bear pelts from an organized bear hunt.
His oldest child is the same.
Talks about hunting all the time. Goes all over on hunts with his dad.
Someone even wanted to pay for them to go on a safari to Africa.
Together they father and child bond while looking for signs of horney deer.
And people here say, "What a wonderful thing!"
(They're talking about bonding over hunting and shooting animals.)
Have you ever looked at a life white tail in the eyes?
I have.
Then there's his youngest child.
This child is amazing.
He told his dad that he didn't want to hunt. Wasn't his thing his little kid voice said.
But they pestered until one day
He went with them to deer hunt and he shot a 10 point.
First and only deer hunt he ever went on.
First and only deer he ever shot.
That deer was a beast. Huge.
The oldest couldn't believe the younger's luck.
But the youngest said, " That's enough and maybe even too much for me.."
Afterwards he told them that would be the end of hunting for him. He'd rather ride is dirt bike.
To my knowledge? He's never gone back.
If you talk to my brother, he'll tell you all about how he cares for those deer who's heads are on his wall. He'll tell you that he takes care of the environment and how shooting those deer are important to the "circle of life". He'll tell you about how Bambi is some character in a kids movie.
But if you ask his youngest? He'll tell you that Bambi is a metaphor for all living things and how we should care for them by being kind.
.
Dogs barking. We're told that we have coyote problem. We're also told that we have a mountain lion problem.
I'm told that if that mountain lion attacks my dogs and I shoot it? I can get arrested for harming a protected species.
I'm also told that if I shoot a coyote that's attacking my dogs?, I'm fine to do so because it's considered a danger to my pets..
Me? I'm just hoping that we all survive.
This is one crazy world.

It's the first night of Burning Man,
No, I'm not there. This was written at home.
I'm actually at home reading about how the Food Bank is planning for the increased need for their services. I read that Burning Man has been a for profit festival that charged from 200 to 300 dollars a ticket to get in. Once in you are asked to "pay it forward" by being helpful to one another. While I'm reading this I'm thinking how with one dollar Food Bank can buy groceries. Imagine what they could do with the price of a ticket and the cost of fuel to get there and how folks are flying in airplanes and then taking the pledge not to use fossil fuels while there. I'm reading that people attending Burning Man are asked to do acts of kindness. Then I read that theres been a 30 percent increase this year in the number of people using Food Bank.
I think about the folks who lost everything in last spring's tornado and how Food Bank helped.
And how politicos and capitalist flew private jets to a conference about solving environmental crisis world wide.
Decided to have my own party in my heart. Cost of a ticket? A hug.

I read the Vogue for the articles.
I really do.
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "I don't care what you read and what tha heck does that video have to do with reading Vogue?" Then you delete and perhaps delist me on Twitter.. As you're doing so you may also be thinking that I read Vogue like you might read Playboy."
To you I say?
"Nothing"
The video has absolutely nothing to do with reading Vogue other than I got side tracked AND I couldn't find a good copy of Angel is a Centerfold by J Geils Band. I could, however, find a perfectly excellent video of The Three Stooges' dancing to Whammer Jammer. I thought that it was actually a song about the Crimson Tide (Univ of Alabama)'s foot ball cheer. It was not but the J Girls Band did record both the Angel IS a Centerfold and Wammer Jammer so I posted it.
Hope you don't have power loss.
Any typos are due to I haven't gone to sleep and I'm too tired to bother with it.
Going to sleep now.
Hugs,

No, not for drinking.
For flushing.
Just saying.
Carry on and keep calm!

I know that you have your heart set on "visiting" the Eastern Seaboard but come on wouldn't you rather take that Atlantic cruise you've always talked about?
You got me walking the floor...

Hint. He's back from France where the nekkid laddies dance.
And?
He's got a robot sidekick named Kristen and another named Geoff Peterson.

Who says.
. Hey Ya'll.
All together now.
Welcome to 12dots and a blot.
This is a writer's blog.
Fact and fiction co-exist here.
If you don't know which is which?
Don't ASSume.
Ask.
For a very long time I was tethered to a place and time. It was a pretty bumpy ride but I did it for love and for my son.
Now, I'm not to keen on being to tethered to much of anything new.
Not saying that I won't ever again but just not right now.
For someone who loves to travel and see new things to be in one place is a great big effort. When they find a place or time to jump into the new or look at the old a new way? Well- if it's legal, moral, and doesn't harm the ones you love or yourself?
Maybe that's a good time to jump a bit.
Dance a little.
eh?
I don't want to grow old with no sailing stories of my own to tell.
So I've lately been looking at folks who say they have a purchase on what I do and say. It's been an interesting experience.
I'm taking a bit of time for me.
Be happy.
Be kind.
Be free.
Hugs,
Author Ann
Note to readers and to Blogspot. If I don't write on this blog for a bit?
This blog is active not abandoned. Might be back today? Might not be back for days?
Who knows?
If something comes up and I feel the need to write about it?
I'll write about it here. :D
Now then, I have things to tend to.
Hugs and love. .

Be. Here. Now
In this moment.
Not in the future time.
Or in the past.
But now.
Right now.
No. I don't care if it sounds willful.
i only care that it sounds.
That it makes the sounds that you will understand the urgency of the message.
Be
here
now.
I can hardly see the words on the page and even the subconscious in my fingertips is trying to shout the words.
I'm tired of "maybe's" and "some days".
NOW.
.
."...I have to do this now.
Now before I get to old.
Now.
Before years of self doubt coil around my heart like some evil primordial snake. It squeezes the last bit of self and breath I have left. I'm here in the dark. In my bed with the sound of someone next to me. Snoring. Why I'm here I don't know. He's nice enough. He doesn't beat me and if I'm sick or hungry or both he'll at least notice if I'm alive. But that life he recognizes, the one where I'm breathing in the biological sense? At this moment it doesn't feel very much like being alive does. If I don't get up out of this bed and do something quick my body might be alive but my spirit ,maybe lost...."

Wal-Mart encourages managers to buy "local" and local produce.
Think global.
Act local.
Summer produce is still available and Fall apples and pumpkins will soon be here.
Anyone remember the story about old apple orchards that were being bought and relocated?
Buy local.
.
This is a good idea. I for one would love to buy milk from the local dairy but can't because they've for the most part been shut down. Alot of that land is now for sale to grow houses.
Buy local?
I'm trying to.

Quote:
"You know, it's funny hearing the head of the Chinese banking system demand America alter it's financial policies
just cause he said so.
After all, it was America who modernised (and I guess got him his job) in the first place.
Here in the South we call that one of three things.
The kindest is "uppidty".
The next kindest is "arrogant".
But?
What we're thinking is the third thing,
"That's just plain stupid."
Only we're not so "uppidiy" and "arrogant" to say so.
At least not to your face."

Before you read the next post, please take care to read this:
For the record,
I DO NOT hate people from China. There are really nice people who are from and still live in China. They haven't had it easy. I know that.
However -
I am not too keen on their govermental policies, That's not the same as disliking people from China.
To tell the truth I'm glad that the citizens of China are finally getting a living wage after years and years of not.
Alot of that economic recovery came from American help. Seems a bit unfriendly to be demanding this and that after all that help.
Just sayin

I told myself, "Self, stay out of politics. It's a jungle out there. But..."
A history lesson.
Go back and read the financial news. Go back to the 70's and Richard Nixon when the first George Bush was head of (I think) the CIA. Start there and read through the following decades, yes decades, about the push to modernize China. Pay attention to the news where the US redid China's stock exchange, insurance commissions, banking commisions, and then look up civil rights violations by China before the Olympics and just in general. Pay attention to what you're reading and then ask your self about recent comments from China concerning US debt.
Then?
Go get a map.
A world map.
Look at where America is and where China is.
Good.
Then?
Look south to South and Central America.
And look at North and South America with people who could use a job. Look at Europe too. Ireland, Portugal, Greece... Look at the world and put things in to perspective. This isn't the first time the world has seen trouble. It's also not the first time that countries have worked together to handle an economic crisis.
Make no mistake here. I'm a thinking that there is some muscle flexing going on but I know that we were a nation for doing things and making things for ourselves.
Pick a paper and look at history. Look at the folks who've been watching their manufacturing jobs leave the country. We've lost textiles and steel. Now think of this, we are still a country rich in natural reasources and unlike a certain other country we've learned how to make things without poluting our environment.
There are times that call for clear thinking and taking up for yourself. It's not just our country. Hello Canada. Hello countries in Central and South America.
We can do it for ourselves.
This song says "hello" to the people of America who've manufacture things and did it well long before goods ever had the words, "Made in China".
(Incase the embed is disabled song 40 Hour Week by Alabama official vid)
Now I'm not going to suggest you throw out those things with "Made in China" on it but maybe it's time that we had a conversation with the WalMart folks and asked them to bring back the "Made in America" campaign.
And maybe the unions can help.
My grandfather raised children during the Great Depression in America. We don't want that but I think that we can get past it. From Craigs List to Ebay and yes to WalMart. The lessons of the Great Depression was about those places who survived by pulling together. They were inventive. The bartered (think Craig's List. Are you getting me? They fed people that didn't have. I hear it's a global economy now but it was then too. Time to band together.
Then?
Go look at the map and at the news and think to yourself, "Who's the country who's been fighting (and going into debt) in Afganistan and Iraq. Anyone see China?"
My heart felt prayers for the family members of the troops who died in Iraq. Hugs.
I'm sorry that my blog can seem frivolous. I've been staying away from politics because lets face it, the troubles in this world, the sorrow, can be overwhelming. Sometime you need a place of quiet.
I'm not being callous. My state like many others have had real sadness due to loss in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan.
(His Eyes Are On The Sparrow cover my Marvin Gay - Incase the embed is disabled)
I hope that this comment on the current political enviroment won't get me banned but I come from the Deep South. While there are good times here? There've been bad too.
It's hear that I've learned that while there are times to be quiet? There's time you should say something too.
I am proud to be American.

I've been watching last week's LLS in Paris.
More important? I've been reading the reviews and the comments.
And you know what?
I think that Craig Ferguson has some of the most loyal fans on the planet. Sure they're a bit nutty when it comes to CF but the Robot Skeletan Army (RSA) rides high on life and funny.
Ride on fans of LLSwTv'sCF.
Hugs!

What happens when an individual becomes an icon?
To celebrate Lucille Ball's 100th birthday people are dressing up like her and going to Buffalo NY to celebrate.
Just imagine.
I would want to keep the right to be unpredictable and accepted for it.
At the same time?
I would want to be lauded for my predictability.

"...I turn on the car radio and there's this ad for a restaurant. The owners were celebrating their anniversary, 9 years today, and offering everyone who came to eat free cake. They wanted to share their wedded bliss and I guess get everyone in listening distance to think good thoughts about their life choices. Then, in what was really interesting programming, the radio station played the song "Chasing Cars". LOL, yeah, that was my reaction too. WTF. The song is all kinds of emo and, after hearing the very jolly commercial about marital bliss and fried chicken, the song just jarred me awake.
And it got me thinking about the oxymoron - "marital bliss".
You see personally I think that husbands and wives should get things like hazard and longevity pay if the marriage lasts 9 years. They should also get separate vacations if they so choose. For a week, of their choice, they should get to go somewhere with their best friend. Now if that best friend is also their spouse? Great. But for most folks the day end and day out just wears them down. Add kids and the economy and it gets worse. You need a vacation from these people so that you don't yell at them the other 358 days out of the year. And you should take your best friend so that you don't have to eat and drink alone if you don't want to. If you make it past 25 years? You should get a month off. Somewhere far from the person who on average is okay but alot of times just pizzes you off.
Bonus if you've raised kids or lost your job(s) or bought/sold a house or dealt with an illness.
I'm sorry but that anniversary night dinner or the anniversary weekend is like a drop of water to a person starving for drink (or a conversation). It just gets your hopes up and then makes you cry for the lacking of it..
"Marital Bliss"
There's just no way that everyday is bliss in marriage unless you just ignore, give in, or take really good drugs. Or you're lucky. Bliss is that feeling of euphoria that you get as a result of being exposed to something that is purely pleasant. Marriage might be two people sticking it out but it's not bliss. Definitely an oxymoron..."

To borrow from Benjamin Franklin, if that sun is rising or setting will depend on the determination and understanding of the people involved...
I was listening to that song, Chasing Cars yesterday and it got me to thinking about how it's possible for two people to live together for a long time and not eventually hate each other. The song sounds like a long time where the two folks don't want to end it but they've had it. Like the last mile of some marathon.
I believe in love with eyes open - and sometimes shut.
"...If I could just hold you for this one second. Look to my right or left while I sit here and ponder what to do next and there you'd be. If I could just - if I could just . I would have that feeling that I had from the moment I saw you and it would be okay. There's so much to tell you. It's that feeling when your feet hit the dock after a long while traveling. You're full of stories of the trip but more you're near bursting with the desire to sit there with the someone of your heart and tell them what's happened.. But you aren't here and I can't tell you or ask you what you think.
"Is that love?" I ask.
Then for a bit I can "see" you and "hear" you in my mind's eye. You're there and you tell me what you think. We were together so long that I could always tell what you thought. It was never boring to me this predictability. It was a comfort in a world that had long sense gone crazy with the heat. No matter what happened, I knew that you'd be there and I say to you, "Well here's the day." and you'd sit there listening. Then you'd ask me what I thought I should do or not do and I'd tell you. Then you'd tell me. Then we'd sit there in the kitchen table and not say much until the whistle went off and you got up to get it.
I was never one for the excitement of back and forth debate. Just the quiet and you confidence that I could handle my own...."

WB will be here soon. He's going to bush hog some. We had to wait a bit and now it's like hay. Pup's going to help him not because he needs the help but because Pup needs to help. I hope that makes sense. I've got laundry to wash. The animals are already fed and watered. I think that we'll eat chicken and then maybe watch a movie. Maybe get some ice cream.
I'm not so much sad as a bit nostalgic. It's overcast and the prediction is for rain. That's why WB is going to bush hog this afternoon instead of tomorrow. "Gotta' make hay..." you know.
Since the last bit of this is more like a letter than a blog post, I'll sign off as if this was a letter to you, Gentle Reader.
Kind thoughts and good happy to you. Hello and hugs to the family.

Robert Palmer vs Tom Jones vid style
Art Of Noise feat. Tom Jones - Kiss by sminer65
So, okay, maybe not but they're both good :)
Note went back to try and find the Power Station cover of the T Rex song Bang a Gong.
Nada.
You have to go find it on Youtube. Get the offical video not the remix otherwise you'll get a "hybrid video" of Bang a Gong and Duran Duran. Not the same.
Anyone miss the days of friendly Youtube? (tiny voice here saying "I do.")
Hang on is that Robert Palmer?
